My Laptop Died

That's why I haven't been posting, well that and  recovering from my operation. When I was recovering I really didn't feel like posting because there wasn't much to post about except for
how great my family was at the time and how well the nurses on my floor took care of me. Also
 just thankful for being alive, it was touch and go there for a while that night! I'd like to say also
that if I hadn't stopped smoking over two years ago I know in my heart that I wouldn't have made it!

My laptop was old with windows 7 and not being computer savvy I didn't want to go on to windows
8...scared to death but here I am now with windows 8 and soon it will be windows 10!!! On my old
laptop it would get so hot you couldn't touch it an then would shut down without any warning,
it did it once while I was writing a post and it was all gone so I decided to wait, my son had my new

laptop and had to return it. So I'm back now and ready to decorate!!!

Now I can't load my pictures from my iphone or camera, my son is coming for dinner tonight so maybe tomorrow I'll get back in the swing of things after he shows me how!

Here are two oldie but goodies, I don't like to post without pictures, for you!
This bench I found at a yardsale for $15.00, Michael was home this past weekend, he is putting his
cottage by the bay up for sale and I gave him this to put in his mudroom.

Rondell

Painting Gray and Annapolis

 

 

 

Hello everyone, how are you? I’ve been a bad blogger I know,

but watching grandkids, in two different towns, has been crazy.

Plus doing the 21 Day Fix everyday makes for a very tired person

at night!

 

I just got done painting my beadboard bar white and can’t wait till

I can paint the black barstools another color, I’m sort of leaning

to a robins egg blue or a toned down red, will see what happens!

We finally painted the kitchen and I couldn’t be happier, it’s a gray

shade from Valspar “Polished Silver” looks like there is a blue under

tone but there isn’t, we had it retinted can I say I dislike picking

paint colors out!

 

 

We picked the middle one! When it’s all done I’ll post,

can’t wait to do the fun part!

 

 

One fun thing I did was go to Annapolis, Maryland for my son’s

surprise birthday party. My daughter and the girls drove the

four hours and boy, was he surprised to see us there plus his

brothers and friends!

 

 

Cute cake too!

 

His party was held at their friends home and boy was she a

creative and do it yourself person.

These are the knobs on her kitchen cabinets that she painted

white.

 

 

Her walls are gray, darker then mine but not this dark.

I took these with my phone and only managed three! There

were people all over so I’m happy I got what I did. The

curtains are the crinkly type that I’ve seen at Target

and I love the gold leaf lampshade don’t you?

 

 

She had unique things for her walls, loved this with the battery

lights in them.

 

 

In the diningroom she had lights strung across the

ceiling and above the farm table. I didn’t get a

picture of her chandelier but it was painted white

with clear mason jars. It’s the first one I’ve seen

done except for on Pinterest!

BTW it was Michael’s 40th birthday!

 

I hope you are enjoying warmer weather, it’s so nice to

look outside and see Robins on the lawn!

My Trip to Annapolis

I said I would post about Michael’s (my son ) engagement party so here it is, the weather that day was bad and I talked to my daughter who was already in Ocean City and she said the sun was shining and was beautiful out. How can a two hour drive make such a difference? It did though!
This is my son and future DIL they will be married June 21, 2013 back here in Pa. a beautiful couple don’t you think?

Here is what it looked like that day but hey, we still had fun anyways:)As you can see the bay is rough and the wind was too.

We ate here and it’s the only little bar around,  see the bench and planter there? Well across from that is this…


I did it in black and white so that I could frame it. Found a frame at the fleamarket for $1.00 and I have to paint it yet, it’s going to be so neat when I’m finished with it!

Here I am with my three son’s, Nick and Chris are to the left of me and Michael is to the right. So chilly and rainy, windy that day, we had to go by outwear because none of us had any with us except Chris!

Finally we just had to move everything to Michael’s home.
The cutest there were these twins, Ava and Sydney, they look just like Michael’s friend, Holt’s, a highschool friend who came all the way from New Jersey.

You can tell from these pictures how rainy it was, this is Annapolis ( harbor ), love it here! Love all the little shops.

All the old houses are so neat to look at.


Love the doorknocker and the pineapple and look at the pink mail slot on the right!



This cottage is in Michael’s neighborhood, for sale, wouldn’t you love to fix it up? I love how they did the roof on the porch, I’d paint it a neat color plus the door too.lol I suggested we buy it to Stush but he wasn’t interested. boo!

I can dream though, right?

Rondell

Michael’s and Corrie’s Cottage in Annapolis

That’s exactly what it is too a cottage, he lives in an area where years ago they were summer cottages on the bay!  Now people live here year round, , we were here for Michael’s and Corrie’s engagement party so in the mean time Michael did some work in and around his home. He painted the door and it so suits the place I think.

This is the livingroom, love his sofa.

To the left is a wood burner

I just adore his wood beams!

This is on the other end, the chairs are from Ikea and the pillows too, the afghan in the basket there is one my mom crochet years ago.

The house has all the original doors and trim but first, don’t you just love the industrial ceiling fan?

Bedroom doors

This is the diningroom area and heads right into the kitchen.

Love the cabinets in the kitchen, sorry for the glare but I was hurrying before a lot of people started to arrive.

On the back is a screened in porch which I wish I had! He has a nice back yard for his dogs to run and play!

The porch ceiling is neat.

and some festive lights.

Michael did the outside too, this is in front of the home, yes, the pot and sign were mine,

and the herb sign and the bench. You no what though they look so pretty and right at home around his cottage!

He also planted these too.

Pictures I’ve Taken and Never Posted

Do you ever take pictures and then not post them? I do, so I thought I’d show you some!
This is my livingroom, looks so much better with the fireplace white don’t you think? I want a brown leather couch with nail head trim, I’m so tired of the blue, denim one believe me it will never wear out. I also want a glass top coffee table too! I’ve been haunting Craigslist like crazy!

Here is my window boxes, I later added sweet potatoes vine to it.

Aren’t they so neat? I didn’t know I could buy them around here, I don’t think I’ve ever saw them until I started blogging.

Bought these green chairs at Lowes for around the pool.



Here are my sun faces, as I call them, the one below the shelf I bought in Cabo and the little blue one to the left of it I bought there too!

We went to the flea market a couple weeks ago and I got this hanging basket for $5.00!

Found the planter for $2.00 at a yardsale, love the dish that is attached underneath it.

The Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. You can see someone tracing a name!

The guy in the red shirt kept getting in my way but the man in front of him stood for a while saluting.

This is some of the length of it…so sad and so quiet there.

This picture shows you the names and how close they all are together and if you look at the picture above it is mind boggling at how many are on there.

The Lincoln Memorial

I wanted to show Syd the WW II memorial where her great granddad served.

He was in the Navy and in the Pacific so I tried to figure out which battle he would have been in. I think it was Midway, I never ever heard him say one word about the war, nothing! The only thing I did find out … he was one of the ones that helped get the dead soldiers out of the water. It just wasn’t talked about in our home, I was the baby of four and young, then a teenager so I didn’t even think about what he may have went thur.


I’ve been here twice and both times I choke up, I just didn’t know!

It’s beautiful there…if you ever can go see it!
