Moving Things Around

Hello all, to those on the east coast… are you tired of snow?

I know I am although we haven’t got it as bad as some.

I know a lot of you are preparing for the Super Bowl forgive

me for not being to excited, I’m a Steeler fan! But I do know

who I want to win and that’s the Seahawk’s!

Now on to more exciting things, I’ve been changing things

around and it sure has given the house and me a little bit

more energy to play!

 

In my livingroom after all the Christsmas stuff was

put away I switched from the red to black and white.

You can see my furry pillow there from Walmart! The

snowball wreath I found at Marshall’s and I left it out

because it sure goes now! I also bought a new lamp at

Target for there on the end table…I’ll show you soon!

 

Now my hutch had all my tureens on top, I think I have six, I

left the bread basket there and moved the tureens to my step

back cupboard!

 

 

I’m pretty sure I have a small tureen to put on top

of those books on the bottom shelf!

 

I always have to move this desk out so I can put our

tree in it’s place and I’ve been thinking of painting it

black.

 

 

I changed the top of it too!

 

I hope your team wins but right now at half time they

are tied!

A Little Bit of This and That

I’ve had this post saved and just have been busy so I’m going to go ahead and hit publish it without any changes to it, hope

you don’t mind! I don’t have to much to do on my project it’s just getting the time to do it!

Hi everyone, it’s been a busy month for me and probably for you too!

Thanksgiving is next week,our 21# turkey is in the fridge thawing out for

the big day. Until then I’ve been trying not to get overwhelmed/stressed out… just

trying to enjoy the days whether they are spent Christmas shopping or just being at

home. I usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas

but was getting my fall dishes out of the cabinet when I found these Williams Sonoma

mugs I had found at Goodwill a couple years ago and decided to enjoy them now

I also decided to move my cookbooks from above the fridge to up above my

stove and I couldn’t resist putting a faux poinsettia up there too. Once I put the

lighted garland up there it will really look nice!

I have most everything out just waiting to be put in their special places…things

from Target, TJMaxx and Walmart! I’ll get it all put together right after turkey

day, it’s so hard to wait when I see all the great inspiration out there in blogland

and on instagram!

My oldest grandchild Sydney turned 13 this past week… I can’t believe it! We celebrated by

having her friends and family at the bowling alley to bowl and have pizza! I’m so proud

of her she does so well in school and sports.

Here are her friends , they had such a good time, and  it was fun for me just

to sit back and watch Sydney have such a good time!

My Fridays have been taken up by football, my oldest son coaches a highschool team

and they made it to the semi finals , here he is talking to a reporter. I will say that I

froze at every game that we played lately, I don’t do cold very well! Well, the

game before we would play at Heinz Field we lost, he did such an incredible job

with those kids. No matter how old your kids get your heart still hurts when they

hurt!

I’m glad I’m caught up now, I’m decorating for Christmas and I’ll be taking pictures

for you to see!

Happy Spring!

I’m so darn happy it’s spring even though the weather is crappy but thankfully no snow laying

on the ground just gloomy and rainy today.

I just wanted some pretty colors for the first day of spring so went to Wally World and

found one

Forenthia stem, found them at Walmart and just cut the bottom off and stuck them in the watering

can.

Also some new tulips, this time in a lighter shade.

The picture below I took with a softer feature on my camera, I

think it’s pretty. 

I also got my moss bunny out and a picture that used to be beside my hutch, I thought it

would be springy for the mantle.

I have to do some eggs for up here and take the twigs out of the vase, little by

little I’ll get it the way I want it!

I have gift cards for PB and was going to order a burlap shade for this crock lamp, they wanted

$49.00 for this size, somehow I just couldn’t click on check out. LOL I wanted to find one not

so expensive. Well, BHG came thur with one for $7.98…love it and the price!

I love my few touches for spring, are you getting ready for the warmer

weather? I can’t wait to see flowers and hanging baskets!

I’m all over the place with stuff for the walls, tried this one look with the wire basket.

That’s Gidget, no matter where I put her she looks good!

 

I love her and the hydrangea picture!

I found out the the aqua suitcase is worth $80.00 and I paid a $1.00. I think

I’ll keep it though!

My bedroom so far…I had to have a lighter color rug so that if I dropped something I could see where it was!

The mirror is also a jewelry  box, which I love for all my jewelry.

That’s me trying to take a picture! My planter I found at Marshall’s, I guess you could put a candle in it to if you wanted.

The shoes, you won’t believe, are from Walmart!

 

So I hope you enjoyed the showing of my bedroom, I’m going very slow in there, I’m very happy with the

This is a Lazy Post!

This post ladies is just some pictures that I took and didn’t post or some that I just forgot to add to a post.
I found this planter at Walmart and was surprised when I picked it up, they are so light not heavy at all, as you can see I planted some flowers.

This is the planter I bought at the Dollar Tree and sprayed with nickel spray paint, I have them in the back of the house now, the little bunny I got at Rite Aide for half off only $6.00!
 
The next two are GW finds, the picture was .99 and is a sketch of the chapel at Duke University, love black and white pictures!

I finally found one of these bottles with the cork in it still…$2.99!

I stopped at a moving sale last weekend and got this mirror for $3.00.

Also this…all for $2.00…I don’t know what I’ll do with it yet, looks like it’s for the bathroom.

I have a question, how do I load photos on to live writer from Picasa?  I downloaded Sharper Photo on live writer but don’t know what I’m doing as far as getting it on here. If anyone knows PLEASE leave a comment, I’d so appreciate it!

Coming Along on My Hutch/China Cabinet!

  I’m not done with it yet, just taking my time so that I do it right…here it is with the hardware off, I’m going to get new but haven’t decided yet what, I don’t know if I should go with the pewter or black, I’ll decide when I’m done painting it I guess.

I sure do take my hat off to you ladies who do this all the time, this is my first time painting anything so big, I’m keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed that it turns out half as good as all of yours! So I’ve been painting while the light is good during the day and just sitting looking at it at night:)

My dining room is such a mess, we can’t even use the table it’s just full of dishes and a paint can and brush, newspaper underneath it all…yuck.
I’d love to know what color I should paint the frames on the pictures on either side of it, right now they are a gold wood, so don’t forget to let me know in a comment okay? I’d appreciate any advice:)
See the washstand in the left hand corner, I bought two sample cans of Cafe Blue/ Valspar paint to use on it and put it in my bedroom as a nightstand. Plans for my bedroom are swirling around in my head so maybe that will be my next project!

Here’s a closer look…I took these photos at night so that’s why there are shadows, I know one thing I can’t wait to tweak it and try out different things to put in it:)

I have managed to change some things while the paint was drying, above the desk, which I found at a yardsale for $20.00, I put all white plates instead of two flowered ones that I had hanging there and I like the look.

I forgot to show you this cloche I found at GW for .99, they do have them at Marshall’s for $7.99 but much bigger than mine, I feel really lucky in finding this one for so cheap!

I was at Lowes and Walmart today and at Walmart I bought these green apples to put in this bowl that Mr. K gave me for Christmas, it’s a McCoy! I can’t wait to put it in the center of the table with the china cabinet in the background looking good! I’m liken my camera!!! Looks like you could grab one right out of the picture doesn’t it!

 I couldn’t wait to show all of you the progress on the china cabinet, boy, do my shoulders ache…of course the kettlebell is one reason, I have to tell you that I can see the difference in my shoulders and arms because of using it I’m trying to get in better shape for that trip to Jamaica which will be here before I know it:)

I’m Still Not Satisfied!

 

This is the Before picture, to me too white…

 

and the After…there is a difference isn’t there? I do know I’ll never buy pure white again but live and learn:)

I’m sure learning and I guess that’s what it’s all about, trouble is I want it perfect like I see in blogland that just make me sigh but I’ll get there one day. Thank you to those that commented and explained how to do the glaze, I do like glazing I just have to sand alot more I think, even when I was prim I hesitated to sand alot.lol This picture was taken at night and pretty close as to the true color of the paint on the walls, sometimes it shows green but it isn’t.

 

 You can see some of the glaze here, do you think I need to sand more?

The bowl I bought at Walmart the other day, my daughter is off all week and it seems that’s all we did was shop! I did pick up some stocking stuffers for the girls at Toy’s R Us so I guess I’ve started Christmas shopping!

 This tea cup I bought at TJMax I thought it would look good here!

I also glazed my chair and the ceramic pot of tiny rosebuds I found at GW for $1.99.

Here’s the back of it, I do love this.

This mirror my SIL gave me, love the bevel on the mirror but looks like I smeared it when I tried to clean some glaze off of it.

 The next three pictures are of some GW finds and I have more that I’ll do in another post, getting sick sure put me back on comments and showing my finds! Anyway, I found this bunny for Easter for $2.00 I just couldn’t pass him up, he’s made of Hydrangeas.

I think I lucked out with him for spring time, he’s put away until then.

I also found this picture at Gw for $1.99 it’s titled Afternoon Snack, I’m sort of liking the gold frame for now!

I thought this little container for seeds was neat, inside are compartments for different seeds!

These are from Dutch Boy, I’m leaning towards the one on the right which is called Kiss of Cream and the left one is Weathered White. I got them at Walmart but had to leave the paint area because Samantha wanted me to see Barbie’s Townhouse that she wants Santa to bring her:)
