Soup Tureen Love!

 

Hi everyone! I got off early from babysitting and I’m off tomorrow so gee, I get to do a post! About time I think, whenever I don’t get to post I feel really lost or something, ever feel that way?

I did find some time to run into Good Will and couldn’t see anything I wanted to buy until I came upon an end cap and there she was sitting there waiting for me, with a spoon even, yeah! Here she is I don’t know how old she is but she is crackled…for just $5.99 and a nice size too!

I’ve also been on EBay and online stores trying to find a zebra runner, well would you believe that some ran up to $99.00? I don’t know what they were made of but that was certainly not the price I was thinking of but I found one yesterday and wait….for a whopping $5.00!!! Where at? Well, don’t rule out The Dollar General ladies, I had went in there to look for a Rooster picture, they didn’t have one but I sure about fell over when I saw this, the last one too! For something so trendy the price was right so I snatched it up real quick! Love how it looks and I think I’d like it even better if the table were white but maybe that will happen one day who knows!

It’s nice for a change isn’t it? Hey, for $5.00 it sure is!

I was so glad today to finally get to visit some of your blogs and I must say so much talent is out there in blogland, I did find a great blog today French Farmhouse 425 she loves white! Hello everyone! Is it hot enough for you? Our pool has been used so much this year thank goodness for it!  I’ve been working more than my three usual days so that’s why I haven’t been on here much since last Thursday plus watching the grands two days a week….I’m pooped by evenings end! I’ve been having fun this summer it’s been a great one for sure, it may have been really sunny and hot but that has been great for the usual activities summer provides so we have been really blessed!

I wanted to post today the winner of my giveaway, I used the Random.org but didn’t know how to post the picture and to be honest I just don’t have the time to find out….I work today!

A Giveaway…..from Me to You!

How are you? The weekend for me was great…. busy but great! Saturday was a baby shower for my soon to be 4th grandchild, a small shower, but so cute to see Alex so excited for her baby sister or brother! I’ll show pics at the bottom of this post!

Right now I want you to see what I’m giving away to YOU, a wood carrier that I’ve painted a Beachy blue! I distressed it and applied a light coat of Mocha glaze to it. When you get it you can do what you want to it, that’s why I only did  what I did!

Also this quart Ball jar with zinc lid to go with it!

Here’s the inside of it (starfish not included) and it also has metal thingys on each corner of it which you can see in the first photo!

Very nice to display anywhere in your home!

My Sunday Finds!

 
I hope everyone had a great weekend and Monday! Sunday sure was a fun day for me! We went to the flea market then to lunch and stopped at Big Lots on the way home!  Glad to get home because it was so hot and humid!
Here’s what I found at the flea market!
A very nice sized mirror for $3.00, I didn’t even argue the price because I thought it was so worth it. I’m not even going to touch the frame of it with paint….love the silver! It’s also so heavy!

This black and white print was only $1.00 and in such great condition, I Googled it and it’s located in Maine and is a 5 Star inn, I’d love someday to visit there! I love black and white prints!

I put it here for now, when the cupboards are Cottage White I think it will even look better.

Here is the best find for me, a Big Ben Clock just like my mom had when I was a teenager, funny the things that stick in your mind! I was so thrilled to find one for only $4.00 and I have it on my desk with a frame of my kids when they were little although you can’t see the youngest. LOL

We took the back roads to the flea market and stopped at a yardsale and found these  two framed pears, she wanted 6, I said 4, she said 5 so I bought them as you can see they are brand new! I don’t have any plans for them as of now but figured when the cabinets are painted I maybe could use them!

Earlier in the week I had printed off a 20% off coupon for Big Lots, I had seen this lampshade and loved it and thank goodness I didn’t buy it then, it was $18.00! With my coupon it came to $14.50…big smile here! I had to change lamps because of the top fixture so brought the one  I had in the livingroom out here!

I love mixing styles…soon the window frame will be Cottage White!

In this picture you can see one of the two rugs I got too, on sale for $30.00 and with my coupon I got each for $24.50 and they are by Mohawk!

This sure is picture overlode I know but want to catch up on things I haven’t showed you!

He will look good in the hutch come Thanksgiving…..don’t want to even think of it!

So for now this is what sits on those plates!

One last yardsale find, it’s glass and thought for a $1.00 it would make a neat vase, Mr.K thinks it was part of a coffee pot but I like to think of it as a carafe.

Summer Cloche Party!

Good evening! It’s about 11:10PM and I’m just getting on here to post my summer cloche, we had friends over today so I was a little busy!
Marty at A Stroll thur Life is having a wonderful Summer Cloche Party, I can’t wait to really sit and look at everyone’s Cloche’s and get some great ideas too! Stop over at Marty’s to see and join in on the fun too!
Here’s mine! Since it’s summer time I used seashells on a milkglass cake plate that I found at GW for about $2.00, I couldn’t get my hands on it fast enough.LOL

I thought it went well with the blue ticking for summer.

The seashells are from Walmart and the starfish from Pat Catan’s…I think!


It doesn’t take alot of $$$ to make a pretty cloche for summer

Modern Country and Country French!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great weekend, I am, just had to work Friday and today, glad it was just during the day though!
I wanted to pop on here and share with you a book and a magazine I won over at Courtney’s A French Country Cottage during the the Block/Blog Party. It was really funny to me because at Lowes I picked up the Country French magazine but put it down because of the price, then the next week I won it…so glad I didn’t buy it! I also won a wonderful book called Modern Country, I love this style, of course I love all styles of decorating it’s just deciding on which one.LOL I do know that I like to mix different styles together I love the look of that!  This book sure shows you how to do it too!

This photo below is my favorite in the whole book, I love how everything just blends together, love the beadboard on the cabinet and how it is distressed, oh, and the ticking seat cushions on those chairs …fab!

I hope you enjoyed the little tour of my winnings, they will be great to keep for the colder months but who wants to think about that right?
