First Project of 2012 and Happy New Year!

Remember this picture? It’s one I just can’t sell, maybe it’s because it was such a yardsale find, frame and all for just $1.00! It’s time to move on though so I decided to use the frame for something I’ve wanted to do for a few months… make it a jewelry organizer! A place so that at a glance I knew, when I was getting ready to go out, what jewelry I’d be wearing, all my jewelry organized, not tangled and messed  like it usually was.

First, I used what I had around the house and thought about what to use as a background. I didn’t have any burlap but I did have the wrapping paper that I bought half off the day after Christmas at Target, and was surprised to find out it was flocked.

Next I needed hooks, Stush had some and I quickly spray painted them white.

Screwed the hooks in and this is how it turned out, it hangs by my closet doors.

Looks like a picture and it also filled up some wall space for me.

I even let some hang over the edge for a sexier look!

Neat!!!

There it is, my first project for 2012 and boy,  does it feel good! There are alot of framed jewelry organizers on Pinterest that’s where I first saw them and knew I had to make one of my own. If you haven’t been on the Pinterest site yet just go to my sidebar and click or comment/email me for an invite and I’ll be sure to do it!

I don’t make resolutions because for some reason they always get broken but I’m going to try and be a little more crafty this new year and blog more often plus learn more about my camera which fell by the wayside in 2011, we will see how that goes:) I’m decluttering, just took three bags to Goodwill the other day and it felt so good to see the stuff go! I’d really like to try and get more organized around here too!

I’ll be joining these parties, please stop by each one they are always so much fun!

Rondell, your jewelry hanger is very creative. I've seen them on Pinterest also and thought it would be fun to make one to match my decor. Alas, my bedroom is probably the last room I'll get around to decorating. :(
Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much for choosing to follow! I'm happy to follow you back.
BTW, I love your blog design!

Love your jewelry organizer, how decorative. Mine is on push pins in the back of my closet..functional, but not very decorative.

Great project to start the year!
Happy New Year!

Love this first project of the year. As cute and handy as can be.

I just filled up the back of my SUV with boxes and sacks going to the thrift store. Trying to get things decluttered for this brand new year. :))
