Happy 2016!!!

Happy 2016!!!
The year 2015 sure went by fast it wasn't good health wise for me so I'm hoping and praying
that 2016 is a healthy one. Right now I'm nursing a cold and happy that is all it is!

I thought I'd show the rest of my Christmas pictures and then my newly painted bath
room next time.
I have this red mirrored tray sitting on my coffee table and did it a little different s
this year by scattering bells and and snowflakes on it. The berry ring and candle/vase
are from Target!

Here is another tray that I have on the diningroom table...different candle
sticks and greenery plus pinecones made a great diy centerpiece!

.Remember when I bought the birch logs? I still use them all year long!

A little of my entryway...with the door open! I got the hubbs to put this mirror
back up so now I'm looking for a narrow bench or table for in here.

I'll be back to show you my newly painted bathroom!

A Little Bit of This and That

I’ve had this post saved and just have been busy so I’m going to go ahead and hit publish it without any changes to it, hope
you don’t mind! I don’t have to much to do on my project it’s just getting the time to do it!
Hi everyone, it’s been a busy month for me and probably for you too!
Thanksgiving is next week, our 21# turkey is in the fridge thawing out for
the big day. Until then I’ve been trying not to get overwhelmed/stressed out… just
trying to enjoy the days whether they are spent Christmas shopping or just being at
home. I usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas
but was getting my fall dishes out of the cabinet when I found these Williams Sonoma
mugs I had found at Goodwill a couple years ago and decided to enjoy them now

I also decided to move my cookbooks from above the fridge to up above my
stove and I couldn’t resist putting a faux poinsettia up there too. Once I put the
lighted garland up there it will really look nice!

I have most everything out just waiting to be put in their special places…things
from Target, TJMaxx and Walmart! I’ll get it all put together right after turkey
day, it’s so hard to wait when I see all the great inspiration out there in blogland
and on instagram!

My oldest grandchild Sydney turned 13 this past week… I can’t believe it! We celebrated by
having her friends and family at the bowling alley to bowl and have pizza! I’m so proud
of her she does so well in school and sports.
iphone 3 022

Here are her friends , they had such a good time, and  it was fun for me just
to sit back and watch Sydney have such a good time!

My Fridays have been taken up by football, my oldest son coaches a highschool team
and they made it to the semi finals , here he is talking to a reporter. I will say that I
froze at every game that we played lately, I don’t do cold very well! Well, the
game before we would play at Heinz Field we lost, he did such an incredible job
with those kids. No matter how old your kids get your heart still hurts when they
hurt!

I’m glad I’m caught up now, I’m decorating for Christmas and I’ll be taking pictures
for you to see!

Christmas Tree and Other Decor

My Christmas tree is basically the same as last year except for a few new
ornaments and different styled faux presents under the tree. I used Target
giftwrap and ribbon I had in my stash. That also is still the same velvet
skirt too, I remember my husband almost chocking when he paid for it.lol
Christmas things 2 010
Here are my newest ornaments, I always enjoy going shopping after Christmas, love getting
a good deal on them,.
My granddaughter bought me this black and silver lamp from Walmart, thank
you for thinking of Grammy, Samantha.
The owl I bought from Walmart too, I thought they had a lot of nice ornaments this
year.
The bottom left are one of three birds I bought at Macy’s after Christmas sale last year. He is
much bigger than he appears in the picture and I think he is felted, they had been more than
I’d ever pay but got a great price on them. Next is a silver glittered shoe, love me my shoes!
PicMonkey Collage
I added some books to this chair to lift up the silver bowl a bit. I’m still loving
this blue.
Christmas things 2 017
I decorated my scale different this year on the hoosier, with an old Rumford Baking tin
sitting on some greens. Do you like my owl S&P’s? I think they are cute, I’ll show you all
my Christmas S&P’s in another post.
Christmas things 2 006
I added some white poinsettias to the bedroom in a milk glass vase. The owl bracelet
sitting in a white dish I bought on the streets of New York City.
Christmas 2013 021
I’ll be back soon with more, some days there isn’t any sun for good pictures so I have to hurry and grab my
camera when I can if it’s out.
Thanks for stopping by I always appreciate you!

Christmas Red

Hello everyone, how are you holding up with Christmas just
weeks away? I started decorating right after Thanksgiving,
we did put the tree up but didn’t decorate it, and I’m so
glad I did because Christmas has come really fast this
year. I’ve started shopping earlier this year too.

Today I took some pictures while the sun shined at times.
I found this centerpiece at Michael’s I put it in a wooden
box and I added the pinecones. I have it sitting on a
runner I bought a couple months ago at TJMaxx knowing then
that I wanted to add more red to my Christmas decorating.

Christmas things 002

After I took the picture above I tried it with this frame I
had painted blue. I like it but just not sure about it,
I love it with the red.
Christmas things 003
My hairdresser gave me two sets of these Christmas dishes for a service of 8,I just love them, they were bought at Kohl’s and I think they go well with the
feedsack runner.

Christmas things 006
You can see my tree in the background.

Christmas things 001
I kept this vignette the same as last year but did add some twinkle lights.
Christmas things 005
I bought the red mirrored tray… in fact I went shopping for one and
found it, first time that has happened. See the little snowflakes I
made? I used some sort of baby yarn from Walmart. They turned out so
cute, they even shed a little so it does look like snow.
Christmas things 007
I love the look of different candle sticks all arranged together don’t you?
There is brass, ceramic, mercury glass, silver and pewter. Different
shapes and textures. I love adding red this year in my home.

I hope you had a great Monday and are finishing up with
your decorating and baking oh,and shopping too.

Our Christmas Home Tour

Happy Day to you all! What a wonderful season this is, how blessed we are to  decorate our homes to celebrate our Saviors Birthday!
I’d love to take you on a tour of our home for Christmas 2012, we will start in the entryway okay?
I had to use lights because we have had rain and gloomy weather for going on a week now. I also went a little simpler this year by that I mean I didn’t drag everything out like I used to.
I’ve had this quilted stocking for years and always bring it out to hang on this narrow piece by the closet.
christmas 2012 018
I used real greenery from Lowe’s my first time ever for around my front door, so I tucked a few pieces in the stocking and every time I go past I get a whif of Christmas!
christmas 2012 019
My holly wreath with the Got Snow sign and no we haven’t had any snow yet this winter, hope we get some for Christmas eve.

Now how about the kitchen, it’s just to the right of the entryway. I always use faux garland with lights above the kitchen cabinets.

Will Start With Christmas 2009

Hello all! A wonderful thing this morning…the sun is shining, we haven’t seen the sun in over a week, my thoughts and prayers are with those in NYC and NJ, I surely hope the sun is shining there too!
I thought you would like to see how I decorated my home in Christmas past , some of you are new here to my blog and well, I thought maybe you would like to see how I’ve changed. I just can’t believe Christmas is next month, can you?
This is Christmas 2009
A lot of pictures but we all like pictures right?
The mantel is painted blue, and really I still have everything you see there. lol The thought of going thur Christmas decorations to sell what I don’t want is daunting!
106_2006
I was into a more primitive look back then and an older camera too as you can tell. lol!
200
Old ironing board!
222
Look at the popcorn garland…I spent so much money on it, then right after, I changed my style of decorating, please, tell  me I’m not the only one to do this?
223
Prairie bonnets!
106_2224
Dry sink I have in the basement now. I made the doll you see there, yes I can sew just don’t like to!
206
The bathroom, sometimes I do miss the days of decorating like this, I got everything just the way I wanted it, then one day I woke up and knew that a change was needed!
207
Bedroom…boy, these pictures do make me appreciate my camera now!
007
Hamm, why was I dissatisfied? I think that’s the only picture I have of the oak cabinets.lol
005
Okay now, let’s fast forward to 2010.
Mantel…found the wreath in the container at GW.
PC061748
The hutch was oak, love, love it white!
PC061753
Love♥ Can’t wait to see some twinkling lights! PC041737
Cabinets are white, thank goodness!  We now have an up to date ceiling fan, new light over the sink, new counters and now have wire baskets where the zebra ones are…what was I thinking with the zebra? lol.
PC201812
I like looking at these pictures, it shows me what I have and not to buy another ornament, as if that’s going to happen!
PC021723
I do need more of this ribbon though.
PC241826
No prairie bonnets here!
PC061751
Aww, now I sort of like this but the washstand is now in the diningroom! I think I’ll move the bed back on this wall.
P2280319
