Random Things Friday

Hello everyone!
It’s beautiful here in Pennsylvania, the sky couldn’t be more blue and the mums are so pretty, I’m going
to enjoy fall just the same as I enjoyed this summer.

I’ve been exercising ( Turbo Jam ) and walking/jogging watching what I eat plus drinking this:

XO 006

I chose to drink the chocolate vegan which is so good, it has also
given me energy which I forgot what it was like to have.
I’m still on my first bag of Shakeology so I’ll let you know my progress
in a couple weeks.

I stopped by Goodwill a couple weeks ago and found this bamboo mirror for
a couple dollars, I don’t know whether to paint it or not so right now I’m
keeping it the way it is.

XO 004
Here it is in the diningroom, I also found the hanging cornucopia for 1.00 at a yardsale. I forgot to remove the
photo albums on the table, we had company from Vermont last week so they were brought out!
XO 005

I’ve also been to Michael’s and used a 40% coupon on these metal letters, you can hang them
on the wall or have them stand like I did. I chose the X and O because there weren’t many letters
left.
XO 001
I finally found this stashed away in a box, I was so happy to find it… I thought
it had got thrown away by mistake.
XO 009
Now I can’t find the blue pumpkin I painted last year.Sad smile

I’m also loven black and white

Have a wonderful weekend… there is a neat yardsale tomorrow that I’m going
to go to, hope I find something!

Not Doing Much, Just Moving Things Around

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all doing great and that your ready for the weekend.
I haven’t been doing much decorating just been watching grandkids which wears
me out but I do love them…they crack me up at times!
I did move things around so I thought I’d show you some pics of it!
I moved the cabinet, which was from Michael’s and moved a picture
from the livingroom and the chair from the desk, to this corner.
009
The white faux hydrangea’s are from Pottery Barn, they were on sale and free shipping!
003
I can’t wait to see these walls gray with white trim!!!
My hubs hasn’t been feeling well though and has an
appointment with a heart dr. , the same one I went to. If
you could find it in your heart to say a prayer for him I’d be so grateful.
I know when you prayed for me that time it sure worked!

010

004

Like I said I’ve been moving things around, this is the top of my bookcase, don’t you
love the jug/vase up there? I was looking on line /Pottery Barn and was loving
their jugs/vases but of course not the prices, then I remembered seeing this one
at Walmart on the clearance shelf but figured it would be gone. Nope, it was still
there so I brought it home.
001

The pillow on the chair I found at a church sale $2.00 and it was mine and
brand new too!

006
I also used one of my Mother’s Day gifts from my daughter, a gift certificate
for a pedicure, felt good ladies and I so needed one after all those cold months
in boots!

That’s about all right now, I did by two things at the consignment store right by
where I get my hair done, nothing earth shattering but cute just the same, I’ll share
next time!
Thanks for stopping by.

Prettying Up the PB Coffee Table

Today I thought I’d give my coffee table a new look, spring is next month, although looking out the window you would never know it, just to much snow. I’ll be glad when it does go away, Monday night, coming home from work the roads were so bad, so I want it all to just go away!
I like using my basket tray, with everything grouped together, the ceramic popcorn holder crock came up from the basement to hold these green Hydrangeas yes, they are faux and I love them, to me they look so real and the green color is so welcoming. You can also see the fabric hearts in the middle there, I only have a few of them left from my prim decorating days.
Also in the upper right hand corner you can see my new pillow I got on clearance at TJMaxx for $10.00. The candleholder is from the Dollar Tree which I spray painted white a while ago.

Dumpster desk 010
When I was at Michael’s I bought some burlap ribbon, you don’t get a lot for $2.99 I found out so I decided to tie some around some books that I keep on the lower shelf.

Dumpster desk 008
Doesn’t it look like a first grader wrote the word “books” with the chalk? I’m just not good at writing with chalk. I see other’s do it and I’m amazed at how nice and pretty it looks.

Dumpster desk 009

On the other side of the wire basket I have my two wooden bowls and I think I need more, I should have more some where around here:)
Dumpster desk 011
This is as far as I got on it, had to leave for the good old mamo and GYN appt.:) Yes, I shaved my legs but forgot to paint my toenails, I’m sure he didn’t notice.lol

Debbiedoo’s Copy Cat!

Well, you know me, when I do a copy cat it’s always Pottery Barn, just can’t get enough of their catalogs, but their prices are just to high for me! Just watch out if I ever hit the Power Ball though (which I don’t play but hubby does ) lol. Anyway, here is the page I copied.
004
This is as close as I got it! I got the brainy idea to buy a dropcloth at Lowe’s for $21.00 instead of PB’s $99.00 one! Brought it home and washed it and it did make the dropcloth really soft. I may bleach it next time it goes in the wash.
012
I’m a little disappointed in it but it sure isn’t blue anymore and does brighten up the room. Now for a new rug:) My husband doesn’t want to hear about that. Ha!

Baby Steps in the Livingroom

Yes, just baby steps, I found out that’s how it has to be done to get the look that I’m aiming for! Love Pottery Barn  a whole bunch as I know some of you do too! Oh, my though it can be expensive, our nearest PB is about 40 miles from here and unfortunely no Pottery Barn Outlet close either. So I haunt their online store and go right to their sale section to drool plus I get their catalog to read from cover to cover also. Here is my livingroom so far:
PB coffee table, thanks Craigslist and PB pillow cover for $14.99 online. I’d love a new sofa and I’ve been looking for months just waiting for a good deal to come my way. It’s over 10 years old and it’s time for a change I think and something else for above the couch I’d like too…but I have to remember “baby steps”.

006
We just painted our fireplace white this year and love it.
003
As you can see my livingroom is one long room that includes the diningroom!
PB’s leather chair, even on sale was just to much so I bought the Target one they had on sale one week.
007
Here is a better pic…I use old or neat looking bottles too for decorating.
008
This is the view coming in the front door.
012
Into the kitchen.
.011
As a side note I can’t believe it’s coming time to close the pool soon, love it on a sunny day like today!
015
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and as always thanks so much for stopping by!

Remember When I Wished For?

Well, the wish came true, took me a while but I did it! This is a picture of when I did a copycat for one of Debbiedoo’s copycat party’s, it’s from a picture in a Pottery Barn catalog, and in my post I said how I wished I had the glass coffee table that was shown in the picture, well thank goodness for Craiglist!

P9141413
Here it is in all it’s glass glory! Love!!!
006
I just stood and stared, I couldn’t believe it was in my own livingroom!
005
We have company from N.C. so I didn’t have the time or freedom to play around with it, see the paisley pillow cover? I ordered that from Pottery Barn a month or so ago and got it on sale for $14.99!
004
How much did I pay? Remember it sells for $399.00 in the catalog!
001
The lady wanted $200.00 but I asked if she would take $180.00 and she did!
002
Some changes going on so stay tuned oh, there is another copy cat party scheduled at Debbiedoo’s… it’s Wednesday, August 1st be there or be square, remember that phrase? Believe it or not it was before my time too. lol…

Come See My Fireplace

I’m so glad you stopped by, I’m so excited to show you my newly painted fireplace! What a difference it made, it’s so amazing what paint can do isn’t it? I still can’t believe it’s the same fireplace, I smile every time I look at it! Stush did it for me, I didn’t even have to hold a paintbrush, I did though take the vacuum sweeper attachment to the brick before he primed it and I decorated it which is the fun part right?

002

Everything shows up so well on the mantel too, the etc sign is the one from the Salvation Army store for $1.49, I took the hooks off that were across the bottom and painted it black. The two books it’s sitting on I covered in drop cloth scraps, the urn on the right I found at one of the yardsales last weekend for $2.00, yardsales are the best for picking up items for the home I think!

001!

I never took a picture of my fireplace unless I had to, but I found this one from last fall, you can see how dark brown the brick was! Now it is white as can be!PA111557

This will be my last post until after June 2nd, I’ll be gone a week to this place…..

Pottery Barn Copy Cat

Hello everyone! It’s been a busy week for me babysitting Nicholas, working and just got home from babysitting again…he sure is sweet though!
This is a picture out of a Pottery Barn catalog, it’s always my go to when I want to copy something for Debbie Do’s Copy Cat Party, this time though I was sure pressed for timeSmile I figured I had some old bottles but forgot to look for candles so I had to use these that are coated so I couldn’t light them!
005
Here’s my copycat, believe me I just came in the door grabbed the catalog and threw this together!
001
It just cost me a dollar for the two napkins! I didn’t have anything that looked like whiskey in the glasses but I did have some Mike’s Hard Lemonade.LOL
004
After I was done I stepped back and thought, “ Why don’t I do this for us everyday?” Always to much in a hurry I guessSmile
003
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving sweet comments, I always enjoy them!

Update on my PB Entryway

I hope you all had a great weekend, I sure did. I went to an all girls night at a casino, didn’t gamble, don’t really care for it but did dance and we stayed over then went shopping! Right up my alley, we stopped at Pier One where I found this photo frame with the clothes pin clips, I thought it would look great to my PB  entryway. It was on clearance for about $23.00 but I showed them the one pin was broken and I got it for $20.00…so thrifty and it doesn’t hurt to ask!
P1302139
I clipped some old black and white photos on and loved it
P1302138
My parents when they were about 17.
P1302141
Sydney and Samantha when they were smaller!
P1302144
I found this photo at the fleamarket, on the back it says Lottie Wise and friends!
P1302143
Yep, that’s me, look at that bike, I remember it was blue ahhh the 50’s.
 P1302145
I added a black and white plate and I think I need something for the very top of the arrangement on here, I rather add to it slowly though.
P1302146
I also found this black tray at Kohl’s but I’m not to thrilled with it, I still have that one from TJMaxx on my mind.LOL

Thanks for stopping by I always appreciate it!
