Chalkboard Backsplash on the Other Side

Hello! I hope you are having a good day!
I wanted to show you the other side of my kitchen, this is on the side where the fridge is plus where it says “eat” that’s where the door is going out to the garage from the kitchen a door that we use often. I finally finished this side with chalkboard paint, I love it and the kids get a kick out of writing on it too. Oh, the breadboard I have had for years, found it at a fleamarket and the milk glass cake plate I found at Goodwill for about $2 something.

I think we need to get some cookies in the first jar they don’t last long around here with my husband.

I know some people aren’t a fan of it but ever since I saw MMS’s kitchen in her book  Inspired You I have wanted to try it, when I get tired of it I can always put subway tile over top of it or I still have the roll of beadboard wallpaper to use.

Stush took off the trim on the side of the door so I could paint, I have to get it put back on tomorrow and we still have to buy trim for the chalkboard paint.

Do you know what I like about it the most? It was so darn cheap to do, 3 coats each side and the Valspar paint was just $14.99.
My hubby’s garage doesn’t look good thur the door but for summer I liked these valances from Lowes so I would have more light in the kitchen.

I’ll be joining these parties:

It looks so good and what a reasonable cost, too. xo Diana

It looks great! I love chalkboard walls! Haha, I have the same problem with my kitchen door - the view into the garage. :)

Your backsplash is adorable. I love how you will be able to change it for each season or things like birthdays. Have you tried the chalk markers?

I had considered doing that in our kitchen. Then I went with a lighter option. I am a fan a of chalkboard pain, so this is really something neat to do with it

We have one little chalkboard in the kitchen - actually it is our clock. I would love to paint the pantry door with chalkboard paint. Maybe I will get brave.

How fun, and so easy to keep people posted with a memo now! My cookie jar is ALWAYS empty, literally about 4-5 hours after filling.

I love your sweet kitchen! Those wire baskets on the one side of the door are the best. And of course, your idea to paint the backsplash with chalkboard paint. It encourages people to put their mark on that space and I bet it's fun to see what they write!

I love your chalkboard backsplash! I've never seen that done before, how fun! You got your milk glass cake plate for a steal, the ones that I see cost a fortune!

Oh, this is just the cutest idea! Wish they had had chalk paint years ago when my kids were young. They would have loved this! I'm trying to catch up after being gone.

I love it but I do find it kind of dark. If you love it, that's all that matters. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do in my kitchen. Some day...

Hi Rondell, I love the blackboard paint backslash I think it's wonderful. And if you like it that's really what matters, the cool thing about it is that you can always change it out, like you said. Can't ask for much more than something that looks good, is inexpensive and makes YOU happy!
