My First Win Since Redecorating!

I’m so thrilled to have won these beautiful, depression lamps from Gina at Three Ring Cottage, it was her very first giveaway and I’m so honored to have won, stop over and say hi to such a nice lady…I just love them and know they will just add the right touch to my home with all the decorating I’m doing plus looking for just the right lampshades will be fun! Any suggestions as to what lampshades I should look for?

In my last post I mentioned that I’d show the other finds that I found at Goodwill here they are…I found this ceramic  popcorn container and was really happy to find it because the day before I had saw someone using one on their coffee table on a blog and darn it I can’t remember whose it was…I’m going to have to start writing these things down from now on!!!

Neat huh?

I think I’ll be using it on this AFTER I redo it, right now it’s out in the garage waiting on me to paint it, Mr.  K made this for me a couple years ago and I’ve always loved it but it’s time for a change and I’ll be sure to show you when I’m done with it!

Isn’t this pretty? It’s not a white, white like the picture is showing more a light ivory and marked Made in Japan on the bottom, you don’t see that to much anymore it’s always more like Made in China, what I have in it are paper roses made out of coffee filters, yes that’s right coffee filters! I saw it on someone’s blog and thought it would be easy to do and it was. If anyone knows whose blog it was please let me know so I can give them credit!

Love it with my soup tureen.

I also filled a little glass container with white and ivory, old buttons and yes, there is a turquoise one in there!

Well, it’s time for bed…finally… worked tonight again, I hope you all had a wonderful first day of summer…on the way home from work at 9pm I noticed how pretty the sky was, all pink and blue…just beautiful!

Actually my name is Gina but that's okay, my parents almost named me Kim :) I got your address in the unpublished comment since I didn't have your email address. I will get them packaged up and mailed out probably by Monday. Since they are glass, any shade will go with them. A simple black shade will be more formal or a fun burlap shade for a farmhouse look or a floral shade for fun. Can't wait to see what you do with them! I'm glad you're excited on the win. Congratulations!

What a wonderful win! I'm now following you too!

Re sticky letters/numbers. I bought mine @ Wal-Mart, in the area they sell spray paint, etc.

Here's hoping you can so on find them as we all need an easy, peasy DIY! LOL

Congrats on winning the lamps!! They are very pretty!! I think that burlap shades or soft floral shades would look great with the glass. Love the flowers out of coffee filters...I saw them on a blog too, but I forget which one it was. Can't wait to see what you do with the bench.

Those lamps are amazing, lucky girl! I could see them dressed very feminine or juxtaposed with a fun, graphic shade.

well "hello" Rondelle. Nice to meet you. thank you for stopping by my blog AND becoming a follower. Just had to come on over and introduce myself. I visited your "prim" blog as well and see that you are on a new "journey" here...a decorating one...or should i say a "re-decorating" one. I LOVE the direction you're going in. It looks bright...clean...refreshing. It is very hard to change a style that one hhs had forever! I used to decorate ultra country but slowly..my look has evolved into what you see on my blog. Not quite sure what you call it but it's ME and i always love coming home to it. I hope you'll feel the same way about YOUR new look as well! those lamps you won are lovely! I would have put them in my home in a second. as for the shades...i can see them with some of the shades i posted about 2 posts back: a linen-look fabric with burlap trim and a little bit of vintage embellishments! Just a thought. Well..off to my reading list. I am now a "follower" and will check back often with you. i wish you all the best as you create a new "haven" for you and your family.

Kindest regards,

Hi Rondell! Thanks for your sweet comments..always! Congrats on the lamps win! I love lamps! I was thinking kind of an airy coastal look on the shades but was hard pressed to nail it down until I read Petite Michelle Louise comments. Of course I had to go check out what she was talking about. I love her shades that are kinda burlapy looking w/a ruffle made on the inside and an imbelleshment. It's the ones' she has two of on a side table w/starfish in the middle. Check it out if you haven't already. That's what I was thinking since you seem to be going towards that style w/your aquas! I love that bench by the way too! It's fantastic!
