A New Adventure for Me

 Hello everyone,
What fun this is…this wicker set was given to us and it was white, should have taken a before picture but I’m sure you have seen white wicker before. It took about 8 cans of black, satin Valspar spray paint to do the 3 pieces…and I love it! I’ve also fallen in love with the color aqua and I’ve been spray painting everything that isn’t nailed down aqua…not really but it seems like it!  We are really behind in getting our back of the house ready for summer and of course I’ve been trying to decorate on a shoestring budget…it so much fun to do it that way. I did discover Target and Walmart as far as decorating goes…the two pillow covers I bought at Target on clearance for $2.49 each and the votive too but forget what I paid for it, I think it’s supposed to look like mercury glass? I’ve been reading about it on some of your blogs, Yes, I’ve been lurking reading so very many wonderful blogs out there with such talent and beautiful, gorgeous homes but I didn’t want to leave a comment until I started this blog, so I’ll be commenting on them soon!

The rocking chair was my grandmother’s and has been painted by me at least 5 times…now it is aqua, doesn’t it look pretty?

This watering can I found at Goodwill for a dollar and it had birdhouses on it but the aqua paint took care of that! Now I enjoy watering my flowers more.100_2851
Yes, I even did a basket…one of the first things I did with the Aqua paint!

This is also the first year I have ever used the coconut wire baskets, can you tell I love the color purple in flowers this year? BTW this is hanging on my front porch.

Well, I sure hope you enjoyed your visit here…I know I did, it’s a teensy bit scarey doing another blog especially about a new style of decorating but I think it will be fun. I know that at this time in my life I’m ready for something nice and pretty!
Have a wonderful summer filled weekend!

I too have found the world of spray paint, however it was a bit windy today so I did not get far. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! It is amazing the transformations you can do with paint. Feel free to check the blogs that I follow as many are dedicated to redecorating on a budget.

Hey Rondell! So good to "hear" from you. I've always had sort of an identity crisis when it comes to decorating. I'm a mixture of styles - I like a little bit of everything.

Have fun discovering your new style!

First of all, I'm glad you're well and busy. And what fun it will be watching you dive into a new style ... on a budget. (My kind of decorating!) I love your cheerful aqua accents and I just know you'll be having fun with all of that painting!

Hi Rondell,
I too have changed my decorating style about a month ago or so. I decorated cottage style for 15 years and thought I wanted to go primitive, but it wasn't for me. I'm now following my heart and doing a farmhouse romance style. Kind of cottage, farmhouse, weathered white, and pretty.
I just signed up to follow you here and can't wait to share this journey with you.
hugs,
Cindy

I love the aqua! We are really behind on getting our back yard/pool area ready too. I was thinking about going with a blue theme-- different shades and of course include aqua. All of your color looks great! =]
