It’s 11Pm and I can’t sleep so what do you do…you post! LOL I work tomorrow so I’ll be ahead of the game this way because I wanted to link to Southern Hospitality where you can show off your thrifty finds! I don’t go to thrift stores just Goodwill so I’m sure it’s just about the same thing.
This is my mantel for now, I’m always changing it but this time I really, really like it so it’s staying, I found the vase for $1.99 looks like it’s galvanized doesn’t it? It’s not I don’t know what it’s made of but I liked that it has that look to it! I think it will look nice when I put some fall leaves in it!
I love this platter, on the back it says Homer Laughlin, so pretty and dainty looking, not bad for .25!
All of the plates below where found at Goodwill too, the one on the lower right I found just this past Saturday for the same price. They are above the desk I painted white.
I’ve been wanting one of these mirrors for a while now and I finally found one for $5.99 I love it because it’s so ornate. Now to spray paint it!
I guess I should get to bed, I hope you stop by and leave a comment I love to read them♥

Little Footstool Redone
As you can see I’m still painting and redoing, this is my latest project and small, foot stool that was my mom’s. I used to have it covered with homespun and then somehow it was put in the basement for awhile, I painted the wood legs white and covered it with a pink rosebud pillowcase I found last month at an estate sale, so here is the transformation…
Shabby chic don’t you think? All for free too…I didn’t tug and pull when I stapled the sides just smoothed it with my hand, I read that on someone’s blog but can’t remember whose, anyway good advice and so glad I read it because it works!!!
A closer look, the pillowcases were a $1.00 and came in handy because I couldn’t find fabric that I liked, it was a quick and easy project which I needed to do to see more of what I’m going for in my home.
Now on to what I bought with my money that I earned and so sweated for.LOL
I found these canisters at Target my so favorite store right now, next to it is a bottle with a French label for lemonade, $1.99 at GW!
A Chandelier from Lowes for in the diningroom! I can’t wait to get it in there but the parking lot and rental comes first.
New area rugs nothing special but needed to lighten up the this room and the diningroom and it sure does the trick. I found them at Lowes for $22.99 a piece!
New curtains for the kitchen I found these at Big Lot’s for $10.00 a pair, I like them I think, for now they are okay though, I have to decide on curtain rods before I put the tiers up.
I also bought five panels from the Simply Shabby Chic line at Target and white curtain rods at Walmart.
Yesterday was the first day of school for these two, they both got the teachers that they wanted and love school…so far so good!
I can’t believe it’s Friday already can you? I have an appointment for my hair today cut and color, it sure needs it since I had to cancel because of the yardsale.
Have a wonderful day where ever you are and Oh, I removed the verification on my comments so it will be alot easier now to leave a comment so please do it will make me so happy!
I’m joining the fun at Chic on a Shoestring and My Romantic Home today!

Yard Sale Overload
Yes, every year we have our annual yard sale at my sister’s home, she has a huge yard and there is usually 5 to 6 people selling in it with canopies helping to keep some of the sun out, unfortunely not the heat, it was in the 90’s both days hot… is not the word for it:)
We had a wonderful time though like we always do, it not only means getting to sell things you don’t want anymore but getting together with family, we have been doing this since the 70’s, my BIL sells hotdogs and kobasie sandwiches and pop and we all wait to eat them, they always smell so good!
I didn’t walk around to the other sales, just to hot so I shopped at the ones that were set up by me…look at these roses, I bought them from my sister Judy for .50 and put them in the milkglass GW vase, they look real don’t they?
I found these two prints for $2.00 and on the back was a label that said Pier One $4.98 a piece! They measure 16 by 8 so far Walmart and Target haven’t any that size but I’ll keep looking!
This piecrust table was my mom’s, I can remember playing on it when I was little, my sister had it and said she wasn’t using it anymore and would I like to have it…I love it, I don’t know where it will end up but I’ll find a place!
I traded my sister a crock bench for a box full of these blue and clear glass ball jars…so neat to find so many of them at one time! One of them is old because you can see the bubbles in the glass, I got about twenty in the box and different sizes!
At first I thought this was a sugar bowl but now I think it’s a candy container, I guess you could use it either way, I bought it from my niece for a $1.00!
Here is another picture of it!
Of course these two wanted to be on Grammy’s blog so here is Sydney with her cousin’s yard sale find...a Sponge Bob lunchbox!
Samantha bought three Barbie dresses still in the package for .50 she is a little bargain shopper! The kids had it alot cooler in the pool!
I did really well close to $600.00 but I had alot of prims to sell, some I didn’t sell because I just paid to much for them and knew I wouldn’t make a good profit on them. I was very pleased though.
I did buy some things at Target and Lowes so I’ll show them in my next post. I’m starting to see a little light at the end of the tunnel with this decorating change over, I spray painted some more today seems like that’s all I do but it needs to be done before cold weather sets in.
I’m linking to Nifty Thrifty Tuesday at Coastal Charm and Today’s Thrifty Treasures at Southern Hospitality stop by to see everyone, it’s like looking at a great decorating magazine only better!

A Little B&A and White Wednesday
Hi everyone,
I”m joining Debbiedoo’s Before and After Party and also Kathleen at Faded Charm for White Wednesday make sure you stop by both lovely lady’s blogs to see the great bloggers who take the time out to show what they have been up to and also what they love!
Remember this lampshade that I won on ebay? I was so excited that I had to show it off right away and put it on a black lamp well I finally got around to painting it white! BEFORE
AFTER
Looks alot better doesn’t it?
Also remember this owl umbrella stand that I made for my mom back in the 70’s? I was so hesitant to spray it white but now I’m glad I did, I think mom would approve she liked to make a house and home too.
Do you like it better white? I had to move it to the other side of my cupboard because of the lighting is better here at night. I spray painted it and gave myself a break from the brush.
I forgot to take a before picture of this little ladder, just think patriotic…I love it, I don’t know where it will go in my house but I’m certain I’ll find a place for it! I was at Target Saturday and bought a mirrored tea light holder on clearance to go on here, I think it will look good when lit up.
This Friday and Saturday is our annual yard sale at my sister’s town, I have so much to sell it’s mind boggling but I want money to buy a slipcover for my wing back chair and other shabby chic things so it should be a fun weekend. I hope yours is too!

White Wednesday
Hi blogging friends, looks like I’m posting just once a week right now but that’s okay once school starts I’ll sure have more time on my hands…hopefully! This week dance camp started so I have to take them, then Michele picks them up, it’s a wonder I got this nightstand painted, I think it turned out really good and it only took 4 coats this time! I can’t wait to use the whole gallon up just to get rid of it. LOL
I kept the knob and just took a little bit of the paint off with some sandpaper.
Don’t you just love the lamp? I won two of them from Gina at Three Ring Cottage in June. I still have to get a different lampshade for it this one is natural instead of white but it does match the throw pillow that you see on the left and for now that’s okay. I love looking at this picture because my bedroom looks so nice but you should see the rest of the room a total mess…our annual yard sale is a week from this coming Friday so I’ve been going thur clothes in my closet and selling things that I haven’t used or worn in years!
Here is a close up of it! Love it, thanks again Gina!
So that’s another piece I painted two down and a million to go!!!
I thought you would like to see what was in our back yard the other day…a mama and her twin fawns, so cute, until Buster barked and they were scared off!
I know I said I’d show what I bought at Pottery Barn but just haven’t had time to take pictures but I promise I will soon! I did get to sit on a sofa of theirs and I’ll just say it was pure heaven♥
This is the second time I’ll be linking to Kathleen’s White Wednesday over at Faded Charm…it sure keeps me on my toes to at least get something done once a week!!! Stop over to see all the great posts about White Wednesday you will be so glad you did!

A Fun Day at Kennywood
We spent the day in Kennywood, my kids and my granddaughters Sydney 8, Alexandra (Alex on the far right) 6 and the youngest Samantha 5. Here they are with Kenny Kangaroo and don’t know how that person in that costume did it, it was over 90 that day! So hot!!!
We ate here at the famous Potatoe Patch…to hot to even enjoy the french fries with cheese on them!
Ahhh, the merry go round, it’s been here forever it seems and so beautiful at night with the lights. Kennywood is a amusement park that I’m sure my great grandparents went to, generations of families have been there including mine.
I remember riding these cars with my dad sitting in the back of the car like I’m sitting with Samantha, she sure shook me up but was thrilled to be able to drive.
The park is so pretty with flowers and trees!
Soon I’ll post about my visit here!
This is why I haven’t been posting more a week just been so busy going places but having fun and isn’t that what summer is all about? I hate to see it end!

What’s With the Numbers?
I finally found the vinyl numbers and letters at Walmart, I’m not very good at free handing them with paint so these look alot better than what I would be able to do. I like them on the seat of the chair in my entryway, my daughter saw them and asked “ what’s with the numbers ?” LOL!
The old basket in the corner holds old ticking pillows!
I hung this shutter that I found years ago at a yard sale for $3.00, it’s an old wooden one and I’ll never forget there were about four other ones but I only had enough money left to buy one! It was black and I painted it white…this is also in my entryway to the left of the suitcase.
I don’t know if I’ll keep this wicker antique youth chair below the shutter or not, I found it for $10.00 at the flea market in the 80’s I think.
Well, that’s what I’ve been up to around here, I know it’s been a whole week since I’ve posted but summer, work and watching the “girls” have got in the way, I think we have all been busy though♥
I did get to go to a Pottery Barn store last weekend so I’ll be posting about that soon!
Right now I’m going to link this to Suzanne’s Meridian Road “Private Party” and Faded Charm’s White Wednesday sorry I’m late in doing this but better late than never!
Have a wonderful night wherever you are!
