Desk Chair…Done!

Hi Everyone!

I’ve been working on this desk chair for a couple weeks, painting it Cottage White and using Mocha Glaze on it very lightly. This is the Before, I had already taken material off the seat part which just ripped right off, it was Mr.K’s mother’s and I think it’s from the early 60’s, you know with the gold paint?

I kept this fabric on and covered it with what I had on hand, I haven’t had any time to shop ladies and it’s killing me.LOL This chair will be in my bedroom with the desk that I did and the bedroom isn’t done by a long shot, the kids go back to school August 27th so maybe after then I’ll find the time. I think what’s holding me back is the paint color of the room that’s painted a Golden Sand by Valspar, fine for when I was into another decorating style but now I want to go with a light blue on the walls and I know my husband will just bulk at the thought of painting it and the trim and the cupboard doors again. Why don’t I do it myself you say? Because I’m the world’s worst painter, I even admit it.LOL

So here it is and I’m just not happy with it!

The fabric I had from last year when I had covered the seats on my wicker chairs for the porch!

I think it’s the brown in the material that’s throwing me off so I’ll have to make a trip to JoAnn’s, which is right next door to where I work to see what they have. I did get my 40% off coupon in the mail yesterday but I’m pretty sure it’s for next weekend, I’ll have to check!

Mean while it’s stays like it is, sometimes using what you have on hand just doesn’t work!!! That’s okay though that’s how you learn right?

I’m partying with these great gals, thanks so much for hosting ladies!

Well, looking at it from this end I think the seat covering looks really nice. I think it matches the desk colors perfectly. I need to repaint our bedroom too and am just dreading the thought-ugh-

You did a great job and should be proud of it- xo Diana

Well, well, well, just look at you! painting and making everything all white and shabby.
I LOVE that desk!!!the colors are awesome, and so are the drawer pulls!!!!!!!
The chair looks very nice...but if you are not happy with it, then change it...cause it will always be a thorn in your side if you don't.
Your header sure looks nice lady!

The chair looks very pretty. The fabric matches the desk colors nicely, but if you hate it, then by all means, change it. For me, I know no matter how many people tell me something looks nice, if I don't like it, I can't be convinced no matter what.

Hi Rondell,
I was thinking about you today when I went into our Dollar Tree. I picked up the cutest little pumpkins...just had to get some before they were all gone!!
I love your desk and chair...and think that they look good together. However, I know if you are like me and something about it just doesn't feel right to you...then I would change it too.
Have a wonderful weekend.
hugs,
Cindy

I think it all looks perfect. The blue fronts on the drawers make such a statement. Don't touch a thing.
