Storage Bench Turned Princess!

Hello bloggers, how have you been? Weather wise here it’s been nothing but rain, three days of non stop rain but it sure put me in the mood to decorate for fall! Just doing the inside for now though, I’ll wait to do the outside for a few more weeks! I did fit in some painting these past three days, I did a couple coats each day and let it dry real good…finally finished today. Have you ever had a piece of furniture that you see everyday and you think '”I’ve got to paint that” but never do? Well, this piece is one of those, my daughter bought me this little storage bench for Christmas one year and I loved it but that was when I was into the prim look. I’ve been using it for a bedside table in the guest room and it finally bugged me enough that I painted it with whatever I had on hand just to get rid of that barn red!

Here’s what it used to look like! It had a rusty tin star on it so……

when Michele and I were shopping I made sure I bought one of these wood appliqués at Lowe’s it was about $6.99! I used Gorilla glue to attach it to the front and this is how it turned out!

What a difference, doesn’t look like the same storage bench, what a princess she turned into!

I used my detail sander and after I was done I wiped some Mocha Glaze all over it then wiped it off!

For some reason I’m really liking this because while I was painting it I sort of knew what I was doing you know? I didn’t even have to think of what to do next…sounds crazy I know but I think I’m finally getting the hang of painting furniture and everything I used I already had!

With the light out, sorry for the shadows but the sun hasn’t shown here for a quite while!

Before it sat there like a barn red lump, now I think it’s so pretty!

Thanks so much to my newest followers and also to those of you who stop by, you all are why I blog♥

It's amazing how adding just a single piece of trim can transform a piece. Nicely done.

That turned out so great Rondell...really nice job you did. I wish it would just rain here for three days, it looks like it will, but nothing!

Um...that violet sitting next to Rosemary is actually silk. I used to sell them in my shop. She's cute tho, isn't she?
