Put MY Big Girl Panties on too, and another Pinterest Project!

The other night I was sitting at my laptop and bloghopping away, looking at beautiful, white kitchens but thinking I’d just wait till spring to paint my kitchen cabinets, ( although I really want them done) then I visited Traci from Beneath My Heart, the title of her post really caught my eye, she said she was going to put her big girl panties on and do a makeover on her kitchen! Well, I thought, “Rondell, you are so lazy, here she is taking the cabinets off her wall by herself, I might add, with little ones running around even, and there you sit!!! Now this is where bloggers give so much inspiration to us, the next day I got off my butt and went to Lowes and bought TSP to get off all the dirt and grime from hanging there for thirtysomething years, what a job that was!

Well, here they are, hubby took the doors off for me and removed the hardware! I also asked for black counter tops for Christmas….please Santa!

TSP really gets the grease and grime off, never heard of the stuff until I started this blog:)

As I was cleaning them I thought “I’m finally going to get my white kitchen, it will be alot of hard work but so worth it in the end!” It’s not going to be done in a week or two, I have to work today and tomorrow but I will get it done because I put my Big Girl Panties On! Stop by and see Traci’s post and her cute video that she made you will get so inspired just like me!

Here is another project I did from pinterest…the glass jar is from Walmart and the Halloween cupcake liners are from the DT! I thought it was a cute idea and you can change the cupcake liners out for different seasons!PA141572

Well, I got to run as I said I work today and I have a few more doors to do plus washing my son’s dress shirts plus the kids are coming in today from North Carolina and Maryland so got to clean the bathroom.LOL

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm rooting for ya and I can say from personal experience, though it may not be easy and even possibly could be a few tears, it will be sooooooooooooooo worth it.

That is awesome girl! You can do it! I had an all white kitchen in our South Florida home, it was so fresh and bright. I could nor would ever even attempt that project here. My husband loves our wood hickory cabinets, and although some times I miss the white, it just would not work here. Can't wait to see it.

Wow, I want to do this too, but I lack the energy at the energy at the moment. Hope it is the kitchen of your DREAMS! Can't wait for you to share your result. Good luck! andrea@townandprairie

Way to go! The only way to get anything done is to "do it"! I finally finished my kitchen after way too much thinking about it. I'm looking forward to watching your progress. Have you considered redoing your current counter tops? We used Rustoleum Countertop Transformations on ours and I love it. Looks like new black granite. Much cheaper than new, too.

Wooohooo! Way to go, girl! You have made my day! Now I know I am not in this alone! We can cheer each other on. :) It's going to be a mess, but hang in there...it will be sooo worth it!
Thanks for the shout out! I am going to mention you on my blog next week. :)
Bless you!

It WILL be sooo worth all the work Rondell...I've not regretted doing the cupboards white, especially with the black countertops.
You go girl!

I know you can do it!! I'd love to do something with mine too, one day! Walmart has a kit to transform your counter tops into any color or texture for $69, very interesting! I love Pinterest ideas!!!!

Way to go!!!! I painted my cabinets white two years ago and I'm still happy with mine! It is hard work but in the end so well worth it. I'll be following along.
