Word of the Year…Organize

Happy New Year everyone! So glad there is a clean slate ahead of all of us... right?
My word for 2013 is organize, why? Because I’m terrible at it and it has finally caught up with me to make me realize that I need to get my butt in gear and do what I need to do in order to have my home the way I want it.
I just don’t want to be like this lady in the picture anymore!

I want to be more organized, I am so tired of hunting for things that I’ve put stuffed into cabinets and cupboards and also under beds, yes, I do that only not in neat, plastic containers like you should use just “stuffed”. Maybe my posting about this and putting myself out there will keep me on my toes about it and at the end of 2013 I can proudly say I’m more organized now! I sure hope so!

This has to be my word for the year no other will do because I need to really work on this matter in my life.
My kitchen is all organized, not by me but by my husband who really does all the cookin, that is the only room that doesn’t need organized. The other rooms do though so tomorrow I’ll be starting on the bedrooms than out into the livingroom, diningroom and keeping room. Even the basement, I shudder if just one of you would see that. lol
I hope this post will help someone out there who is like me and you go along with me in 2013 on this journey, I know I’ll breath a sigh of relief when I am successful at it.

best of luck to you Rhondell.

that was my word a few years ago and I finally got it done.
now if I need something I know right where to look and I cant tell you how good that feels. plus it takes way less energy cause I dont spend half a day going thru the whole house looking for one item lol..

So glad I am not alone. Oh, how I need to clean out all our cabinets, closets, drawers, under beds, and the worst my hoarding room. I should hire someone to help me get it all in order.

Great word and goal for 2013, and I like how you said "when" and not "if" at the end! Wishing the best in 2013!

Rondell, I know you heard me say this a few months back about needing to get organized and I'm still on board with it. I really, really, want to do this! I started at work yesterday and clean slate cleared off my desk and inbox which was overflowing. I sure wish my house was that easy! I'll be watching you for sure for any ideas you come up with to help things go smoother. Happy New Years Lady, hope you had a good one!

You go girl.
I find I have to stop organizing when the mood changes so I don't waste time wondering what excuse I can use to keep it. If the clean up mood strikes I move fast before I lose it-LOL

I think everyone is trying to get organized this year. I feel the same way. As I paint my kitchen cabinets, I have to remove everything and I'm getting rid of lots of stuff I never use or forgot to use. Lots of expired food. I just want to be able to put my hands on things when I need them instead of knowing I have them, but not sure where they are. That seems to be happening more and more to me.
