Changing Décor for Christmas
Next year I’m going to start Christmas decorating earlier than the day
after Thanksgiving! I just change things around to much…I just finished
up everything that was bothering me!
Changed out the boxwood wreath for the black star!
Added bows that I made to each side of the mantel and a picture I found at Marshall’s
also red beaded garland that was my mothers!
I love these cute little chalkboard clips with the grandkids name on them!
I’m really liking the black in with the red and silver so I got out these
old plastic snowmen…maybe from the 40’s or 50’.
I also love some sparkle so I used this gift box from Dollar Tree to give the old
bottle brush tree some height!
Pillows are such an important part of decorating for any
style, I had this ticking stripe one and tied a red, velvet
bow around it!
Here it is with the other Christmas pillows!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday before Christmas, cold here and
we are supposed to have snow for Christmas Day!
Merry Christmas!!!

My Christmas Home Tour 2014
Hello everyone! Are you done decorating? I’m not… every year
I start out simple and liking it but everyday finds me adding
just one more thing! Are you like that?
I’m joining Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday House Walk
Link Party, be sure to stop by to see all the wonderful
inspiration that all the homes have at this party!
This wreath is on the back of our front door, I bought the
bow at Lowe’s now I wish I had bought more, I wrapped
a rusty, tin garland around the wreath and added Christmas pics from
JoAnn’s. Plus the “Got Snow” sign!
~Entryway~
The Joy picture I made a couple Christmas’ ago
out of burlap and stenciled the word JOY on it
also a sparkly snowflake that you can’t see to well.
The xo letters are from Michael’s !
A view of the entryway!
~Livingroom~
I love my coffee table from Pottery Barn found it on
Craiglist!
Boxes are from Dollar Tree and so is the ribbon.
My stepback cupboard that I’m always going to
paint but never do.
My best ever consignment find, a Willow nativity set for
$40.00 for all pieces except for the angel, my son bought
me her last Christmas!
The red, chippy window I bought years ago from an
antique dealer for $10.00, she said it was from an old
milkhouse.
~Mantel~
My boxwood wreath from Josh & Main on a Goodwill
picture that I painted with chalkboard paint!
Buster’s new stocking from Homegoods.
~Diningroom~
Santa’s in and on the hutch, banner is from
Target!
The bamboo mirror I found at Goodwill and the
barcart is from Target on clearance!
~Kitchen~
Grocery sign I made S&P’s from Goodwill, light
from Target on sale!
I always love lights above kitchen cabinets!
An old Rumford baking powder can on top
of the fridge!
This is a room off the kitchen I can’t show the other
side because I’m painting the window trim and it just
has the primer on so it’s sort of messy!
I hope you liked my Christmas home tour this year, I
went with the colors red, silver and black plus added
red velvet bows to the tree, bows are made from ribbon
I bought at Homegoods!
Merry Christmas !

A Little Bit of This and That
I’ve had this post saved and just have been busy so I’m going to go ahead and hit publish it without any changes to it, hope
you don’t mind! I don’t have to much to do on my project it’s just getting the time to do it!
Hi everyone, it’s been a busy month for me and probably for you too!
Thanksgiving is next week, our 21# turkey is in the fridge thawing out for
the big day. Until then I’ve been trying not to get overwhelmed/stressed out… just
trying to enjoy the days whether they are spent Christmas shopping or just being at
home. I usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas
but was getting my fall dishes out of the cabinet when I found these Williams Sonoma
mugs I had found at Goodwill a couple years ago and decided to enjoy them now
I also decided to move my cookbooks from above the fridge to up above my
stove and I couldn’t resist putting a faux poinsettia up there too. Once I put the
lighted garland up there it will really look nice!
I have most everything out just waiting to be put in their special places…things
from Target, TJMaxx and Walmart! I’ll get it all put together right after turkey
day, it’s so hard to wait when I see all the great inspiration out there in blogland
and on instagram!
My oldest grandchild Sydney turned 13 this past week… I can’t believe it! We celebrated by
having her friends and family at the bowling alley to bowl and have pizza! I’m so proud
of her she does so well in school and sports.
Here are her friends , they had such a good time, and it was fun for me just
to sit back and watch Sydney have such a good time!
My Fridays have been taken up by football, my oldest son coaches a highschool team
and they made it to the semi finals , here he is talking to a reporter. I will say that I
froze at every game that we played lately, I don’t do cold very well! Well, the
game before we would play at Heinz Field we lost, he did such an incredible job
with those kids. No matter how old your kids get your heart still hurts when they
hurt!
I’m glad I’m caught up now, I’m decorating for Christmas and I’ll be taking pictures
for you to see!
