Projects for 2010
This was my mom’s and I always had it covered in homespun and somehow it got put in the basement for a couple years.
I painted the legs white and and covered it with a pillowcase that I had found at an estate sale for a $1.00!
I had made my mom this umbrella stand in the 70’s when I took ceramic classes, it too has been in the basement until I started to see some white owls out in blogland.
So I spray painted it white and love how it turned out with my willow branches in it !
Found this bench at a yardsale for $15.00
Then turned into this with a couple coats of paint and covered the seat with fabric from JoAnn’s.
Stush made me this coffee table a couple years ago for Christmas…
I spraypainted it with Valsphar called Pebble and bought a piece of unfinished wood that I think you would use at a corner of a doorway or window and Gorilla glued it to cover of the star cutout.
My corner cabinet!
That I painted white, seems like everything has got a coat of white, haven’t done any painting since the cold weather has set in but I’ll be ready to start again come spring!
We are leaving tomorrow for NC instead of today and will be back on Jan. 2
We had a great Christmas and my son and his girlfriend stayed with us plus a cute little house guest…Roonie (short for Art Roonie former owner of the Pittsburgh Steeler’s,) isn’t he cute? I just love his coloring, he is also Buster’s son. Tonight when I got home Stush told me Michael had called and as of that moment Roonie was being operated on, he had ate something and was so sick they took him to the vets and the x-ray showed that he had swallowed something big, Stush and I are thinking a toy of some kind. I hope he pulls thur Michael just loves him! I’m waiting to hear something, they had just left for Annapolis, MD yesterday!
I’m linking to Kim’s Boring and Better Party tonight.

♥Christmas Teapots♥
I love the little, tiny dots for his eyes and is checkered pockets!
I’ve never found more again, when I bring them out they always make me think of the people I worked with and some fun memories but also the long hours that retail involves.
I did the top of my hutch different, the very rusty birdcage is a GW find for a dollar, the basket is from my brother-in-law’s mother’s estate sale, she used it for clothes pins. The ivy spray I also picked up at GW and it still had the price tag on it, the tin Santa my daughter bought me one year!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, I wish you nothing but the best for the New Year, can you believe it is going to be 2011?
We are leaving Tuesday for Winston-Salem North Carolina, my step daughter is getting married on New Years Day and we won’t be back until Jan.2 so my next post will be next year! I hope all of you get what you wished for this Christmas but most of all Peace on Earth!!!

2010 Christmas Home Tours
I thought I’d show you some areas around my home that I haven’t showed before. This is my kitchen window, I found the holy wreath at GW last year and the snowmen towel hanging there is a Martha Stewart one from Macy’s…love going in there and looking at all of her neat things!
I put two trees here in front of the keepingroom window…
and leaned a PB starfish up against the milkglass vase!
My Entryway
I found this basket of greens for 70% off a few years back, just haven’t got around to changing to a silver ribbon!
The skate at Altmyer’s, my first glittery piece.
I finally found a centerpiece for my diningroom table, I think I at least had tried two before but just wasn’t satisfied…glass container GW, silver ornaments Dollar Tree, snowy, evergreen wreath Rite Aid and the ironstone plate I already had!
I added a real feather tree to my china cabinet and
added some Santa’s too!
I’ve had this wreath for years but adding the silver bow and ornaments brought out it’s beauty even more!
I saw this idea on someone’s blog but can’t remember whose but I just loved it, of course I cut off the top part but you can see it in the above picture.
After seeing these acorn ornaments all over blogland I had to run to Walmart to get three to hang on the garland on my mantel. I picked up some silver picks at JoAnn’s too, made the garland a little fuller looking.
My new shaggy rug, Buster looooves it
So that’s my tour, hope you enjoyed being here♥
Don’t forget about my chandy ornament giveaway which ends tomorrow. Have a wonderful night wherever you are!

Nester’s Christmas 2010 Home Tour!
My New Christmas Tree (hoping for a new Camera for Christmas) my prelit beauty!
Silver presents under the tree! New white, velvet tree skirt.
My chandy ornament that I found at Macy’s!
This is what I call my Keeping Room…I’ve since added a white bow to the candleholder on the wall.
My bench that I found at a yard sale for $15.00 and painted white…of course.
An ornament my mom bought me years ago!
Above the bench
Found this vintage snowman at a flea market a while ago, he has a place in the back for a light!
Another view of the room. Opps! No picture in the frame that I found at GW yet that’s sitting on the sewing machine, it’s a Hallmark frame!
Now on to the kitchen, which I’m not thrilled with just keeping my fingers crossed that they get painted white come spring.
Early Christmas present…new fridge:0
To dark of a picture but those are silver poinsettias on a small white platter and I added a ruffle to the Target lamp. The little birds are from Kmart on sell for $ 3.99. This is the corner of my kitchen counter, I keep the lamp lit at night.
I hope you liked my little Christmas tour that I put together in at least some semblance of order, I’m still decorating would you believe it, I hope it’s all done by Christmas. At least I have most of the shopping done, all’s that’s left is wrapping the gifts which I do not like to do, I don’t mind one or two but more than five gets to me:)
Stop by to see over 600 beautiful homes all done up for the Christmas season!

My Shining Star & Boring & After Party!
I tried to find a picture of our old fridge but of course I couldn’t, just think small, white with freezer above! Instead of buying gifts for each other this year we decided to get some items that we wanted for our home. We both loved this, it has two freezers below:) Such a shining star to me anyway!
Love it…after seeing it my BFF bought one the next day!
I swear angels sing when I open both doors:) so roomy too!
Not Christmasy but sure a Boring and After at Kim’s blog, stop on over to see everybody’s beautiful homes! I just had to show it off♥

Doing Some Christmas Fun
I finally got the nerve to take a hardcover book apart, I found it in the basement and figured I didn’t want it anyhow and it would be put to good use this way, love it!
Took the silver tray off the wall by the tree and used it here. The white birds I found at GW for .59 a piece.
I hardly ever show this china cabinet, it was Mr.K’s mother’s, I would love to paint it white but my stepdaughter wants it and that’s okay with me. It means I get something that I really would like but this cabinet is sooooo heavy plus it would have to be moved to North Carolina… so I wait, hopefully it goes this summer! Still love my chandy though!
I’m using the ornaments my mother had bought for me in different ways this year, I put this white bird in with my snowflake dishes. First time for these dishes to be in there too.
Added my teapot too!
I found this sparkley snowflake candle at GW this past summer, can’t remember how much it was but I know it was under a dollar and never used…couldn’t resist it!
This is showing up a yellow in the photo but it’s really not in person (Dear Santa please remember what I asked for♥)
The gravy boat even got some bling this year! My dishes are a mixture, the white ironstone was $15.00 at a yardsale, the gravy boat and saucer from GW and it is Pfaltzgraff but I don’t know what pattern. The snowflake dishes are from The Dollar Store…you see I work there part time and love it, It’s a little crazy there right now with lines like you wouldn’t believe but time there flies by because being a cashier you never stop it’s just one after the other:0 So if you see something that you like by it because it probably won’t be there when you come back, take these snowflake dishes, we had them for two years in a row this year none!
I hope you enjoyed looking and I’ll be posting other pictures soon! Thank you to my new followers, I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by and do so!
