Cottage White Kitchen…..Soon!

So hard to believe but my dream kitchen is coming true, when I grab the counter to pull myself up off the floor after laying on my side painting the trim underneath the cabinets and step back, I think why didn’t I do this a long time ago? Why? Because it is hard work…my body is sore, tired and constantly having Cottage White paint on me some where that’s why, but so worth it!!! See those dishes on the top, those are coming down…I can just see the top of my cabinets with greenery and white twinkle lights for Christmas, it’s going to be so pretty! The picture below is of the side of the kitchen with the sink!

On the other side the drawers are in but haven’t put the hardware on yet! Don’t forget new counter tops are coming yeah!

PB131655

My stove is pulled out into the middle of the kitchen, one thing though I did get to clean and dust off the back of it plus really get grease marks off the top! My stove is so close to the bottom of my microwave and that’s so hard to keep clean because it’s so close! Cleaned the floor underneath it too, I’m a cleaning, painting fool lately girls!

PB131652

I hated to even show this but it is what it is…a mess! I took this picture last night but I think you should see what it will be if you ever decide to paint your kitchen cabinets and it’s been like this for a few weeks! I still have to paint the trim around the window and yes, I’m painting the light switch covers too! LOL

PB131651

Mr. K moved everything over to the side and put at least some things in the cupboards, we have been living out of laundry baskets and I know it’s trying his patience's but so far no tears which is amazing but it’s not over yet! LOL

PB131654

A not good picture of me but remember I just got done painting and I’m heading out the door to Syd and Sam’s Veteran’s Day program! Mr. K was trying to show me how to take a close up picture, yeah sure, with a smirk on my face plus I knew I was going to have to look at my X, which is another story that would take up everyone’s day if I posted about that!

It was also this one’s birthday that day, 10 years old, double digits, three more years and she will be a teenager, Lord, where is the time going? She was a greeter at the door for VDay, a sweet, loving little girl, she has a special place in my heart, she was born a week before my mother passed away. I think God gave her to us to help the grieving that I went thur plus she is my oldest grandchild, I call her Princess, anyone remember the tv show “Father Knows Best”? He called his oldest daughter Princess and that always stuck with me!

Samantha, Sydney’s sister is 6 and in 1st grade, she is on the very right of her teacher, standing in the front row, with the dark hair.

PB101635

There she is singing with her boots on! I see so much of myself in her at times, I call her Honey Bunny!

PB101636

That’s it ladies, what I just showed you is what my life is like right now, I have so much to catch up on, pictures I’ve took and never posted and visiting your blogs, which I still try to do, I don’t want to miss anything, and the parties I’m missing out on but soon everything will back to normal….hopefully!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Your kitchen is coming along great!! I am loving the color and isn't it nice to know that it is going to be spotlessly clean when the whole job is over?!

Thanks for sharing your family pictures! It sounds like it was a lovely evening!

I know you can't wait to be done! I'm so there with you! I just finished painting my cabinets this morning. My legs fell asleep 10 times from all the awkward positions I've been in trying to get that trim done!!

I'm loving how your kitchen is turning out. I know what a mess that can be. Since we moved in our house 15 yrs ago, we have had our floors replaced, changed the lighting and cabinet hardware, repainted, added beadboard, replaced the counters, sink and faucet, and retiled the backsplash. It has been a whirlwind of changes and I don't regret any of it. It just takes time, patience and money. Ha!

Rondell. I use Minwax Clear for wax my furniture and painted pieces. I've never had it turn yellow - just buff it well.

Hope it is coming along nicely for you Rondell. I know it is a lot of work, however,it is also worth the gratification that you did it yourselves.

Wow, you have been busy. Love the color and I paint most of my plate covers as well. I scuff them up, spray with them with a stone /textured spray. I let them dry well and them paint them the color of the wall. SoI think you are right.
Thank you for following and good luck in the giveaway.
I am following you as well. Ginger
