Am I happy with it? No, I never am, I can try and try and try and I just can’t get it right! This year I thought I had it done with taking my mirrors from the entryway and using them on the mantel but…….I know what’s wrong, at least with me anyway, it’s the brown brick! This will be my big 2012 paint project, it is going Cottage White, then maybe I’ll be satisfied in fact I know I will, can you imagine all that’s there on white brick, it would look fabulous for sure! So next Christmas it will be white! LOL
Anyway, I have no idea what this is called the wreath sits in an urn with berries and greens all around a grapevine, I found it at Goodwill for a couple dollars last year. Maybe it’s called a wreath topiary you think? I like it in front of the mirror!
I found the mercury owl at TJMaxx last week for $5.99 and I can still use him after the Christmas decorations are put away always a good thing!
To the left is a feather tree also bought last year at TJMaxx or Marshalls! Also married/glued two pieces from the Dollar Tree and put my Walmart silver acorns in it and I even kept the black ribbon with the white polka dots on it!
This is to the right, another married/glued piece filled with red bead garland and the Santa (the big guy, the head honcho) from Avon about maybe 40 years ago. He’s getting a little shabby looking but that’s okay reminds me of my kids when they were little and home!
The greenery I bought a couple years ago, the mirror lighted garland is from Homegoods I think it was about $7.99 and it even came with three batteries which shocked me because nothing comes with batteries anymore!
Here’s a closer look, the lights shine off the little mirrors so it’s hard to take a pic of it!
I threw in a tiny bit of red this year in my Christmas decorating and strung a red beaded garland under the greenery and mirrors!
Here’s what it looks like as I’m typing this, it’s okay but next year it will be alot better!

I think your mantle is beautiful now! I your tree too! Painting that brick is going to be a big job for sure, but I know you will master it as beautifully as all your other projects. Great job on the mantle!
I think your mantel looks very pretty, Rondell! I know you'll like it better once the brick is painted, but I don't think it detracts from your mantel display at all right now...it still looks nice, you did a super job!
It looks lovely. I love the mercury owl...what a great find! I also have the same potted wreath..in a red pot. I think white brick will look great!
Your mantel looks beautiful Rondell! I love how you put the wreath topiary in front of the mirror. It really looks nice there.
