Can You Say Ektorp?

I’m so excited to show you my brand new Ektorp sofa with the white slipcover! I so love it, my dream come true! Here it is!

The slipcovers were so easy to put on too, I worked yesterday so Stush and his brother went to Ikea to purchase it, when I got home it was put together but he said “I wasn’t putting the slipcovers on”, that’s okay, I wanted to do that myself anyway:) I think I may change the lamp shade though and raise the one long picture higher.

Closer look oh, and do you like the new apple green pillows?

Then I got to messing with my stepback cupboard!

The newer things are the faux plants on top and the Nate Berkus basket that I got for $10.00.

I think I need to put more white plates in it after seeing this picture.

Yesterday my daughter and I stopped in Ikea just to look around…warning never go to there on Saturdays the place was packed! The lines to check out were so long of a wait, my daughter said it looked like a herd of cattle, there just wasn’t a place to stop, no wonder the buggies can go sideways.
I did buy some Gerber flowers and the vase! Also the black and white pillow on the sofa to the left.

Love the beading around it!

I hope you liked the couch, I know I do and one thing I really love about it is that I can change it to another of their slipcovers, they had a beautiful gray one but I’m happy with the white for now!
I’ll be joining these parties today:

Your sofa is lovely, Rondell! I really like all of your touches of green with a bit of black -- great look for Spring!

Spring is already popping out all over the place here with new leaves, plenty of beautiful bedding plants in the nurseries, and the birds are super-busy!

Oh you lucky girl! It's beautiful! I know how happy you must be because I know you were tired of your blue sofa. I wish I could talk my husband into one of these. Enjoy!

I'm so jealous. :( Hubby just won't come to the party on purchasing one. But I'm still hanging in there. Love yours! Congratulations. And I'll accept your condolences. ;) x Julie

Love your new sofa...and the pillows too!! My daughter has been looking at that same sofa from Ikea. I love going there, but it is about 1 1/2 hour drive for us. So we only go a few times a year.
hugs,
Cindy

I have had an Ektorp sleeper sofa since 2004 and it is still in great condition. It came with blue and white striped slipcovers and I replaced it with red corduroy about 5 years ago. It still looks great.

Enjoy!

Looks great! I am so jealous that you have an IKEA so near....although maybe it's purely God's grace that mine is 4hrs away......it might not be a good thing for me! I agree...raise the long picture a bit!

Rondell, I love the sofa! The green pillows look great, too. Ready for Spring. As far as I know, the closest Ikea to us is in Chicago and there's no way to get the husband to go! They talked about putting one here in St. Louis but I think that fell through.

I have been eyeing that Nate Berkus basket at Target too!

Very nice, Rondell! I have the Ektorp chair {I had two but gave my daughter one for my granddaughter's room}. I just washed the slipcover recently, too, and it came out wonderfully {just leave it damp when you put it back on}.

I'm jealous! The Ektorp has been on my wishlist but I just am not brave enough for the white. It is beautiful and you'll be able to change things up so easily.

Thank you very much for the sweet comments on my dining room. :)

Love your new sofa, you can never go wrong with slipcovered pieces. Mine is white also and needs a washing right now, but that's the beauty in it. You can wash it when you need to. Perfect choice and thanks for sharing at he Cabin.

Your sofa looks great! I love green white and black together. It's a great look. You're probably right about raising the long picture a tad. I like the big green hydrangeas- they're a perfect color to go with your new pillows!

Hi Rondell! I have this sofa too and I just love it. It's so great to be able to throw the slips on the wash! Remember not to use bleach and wash on hot!

I have this sofa too. I love it! I also have the Nate basket. ;)

Your room is pretty and the white slipcovered sofa looks great. We used the Ektorp slips on a heavily patterned custom sofa (they fit quite well.) I love white slips but just wish the teens and dog were gentler on them lol. I love love your stepback cupboard. What a great piece and nicely styled.

Your sofa looks fabulous! I love it with the green accent pillows too. That is funny about your husband not wanting to put the slipcovers on. Mine would be the same way!

I agree about Ikea on Saturdays. Oh my they are crowded! I like to go to ours on Sunday, as many people here won't shop on Sundays. Somehow it's still pretty crowded, but nowhere near the Saturday craziness.

Have a great day and enjoy the new furniture!

Your couch is gorgeous!!! I love the bleachability of it….I've been thinking of doing the sectional.

The sofa is lovely and I love the way you have styled the room. The green and black color scheme is a favorite of mine. I also noticed how well you have mixed the vintage items with the modern ones, like the coffee table and the wire basket underneath it.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Looks great! I'd love to get that Ikea sofa, but my husband doesn't want to put it together. Is it difficult to assemble?
