Estate Sale Today

Hello everyone,
Today was my first estate sale this summer, I was there early to try and beat the heat! Still got hot though.
I found some neat things but the prices could have been a bit lower, nothing was marked and I don’t blame them since there was a ton of stuff inside and outside, shed and basement, I wasn’t interested in tools or Christmas decorations or Halloween stuff and that’s what they had alot of. There was alot of things I could have bought but I’m really, really trying to buy only the things that I love and want in my home plus there is a garage sale tomorrow!LOL
They had one lady there who told everyone the price of what they wanted not once did I hear her say anything was under a $1.00…sort of turned me off if you know what I mean. Like this pitcher, myself I thought it should have been .50 but  nope…a $1.00! I liked it though, I think if you enlarge the picture you can see the cluster of grapes on it.

I rearranged my cupboard and have it on the top shelf to the left.

I think this is milk glass I really don’t know but liked it anyway and yep, it was a $1.00.

I dug thru alot of linens and this runner was the only one that I loved so I didn’t think a $1.00 for it was bad at all.
See the milk glass tooth pick holder? It was my mom’s and I always remember it being on the kitchen table growing up, I’m so glad now that I grabbed it up when she passed away, although I didn’t use it until now…so I guess I’m collecting it milk glass now.LOL

These rose printed pillow cases were a $1.00 a pair…
100_3030
I saw this seashell stuffed in back of a cabinet and was afraid she would want $5.00 for it…nope a $1.00 too!
100_3031
I thought these were neat, terra cotta candle sticks covered with tiny sea shells, I think I’ll use them outside.
100_3032
I think my neatest find of the day was this aqua  suitcase for $5.00, its from the 40’s or 50’s, terrible picture of it but was in a hurry.

Honestly for a 1.00 you did great...I think they where fairly priced for everything...probably cheaper than they should have been for that milk glass. Thanks for joining in on the party, I was so happy to see someone new:) I hope you enjoy some others as well, it is a great way to get to know new like minded blogging friends...and I have the best of them:) Debbie
Have a great weekend!

I had that exact same pitcher with the grapes. I can't remember what I paid for it, but $1 is a great price!

Hi Rondell~~~ you got lots of stuff for little cash. The pitcher and milk glass vase are wonderful! I'm always on the look out for vintage pillow slips, and would have scooped those rose bud ones up. The suit case is awesome!!
Great finds!

Rondell,
Your decorating is coming along nicely...I read a few posts back and you said about feeling overwhelmed and how should you go about all of this. Well, before I started decorating Prim, I had a mix of things that we collected and inherited in our house. I just went out and found things that spoke to me and then I came home and found a place for them. The things that had obvious homes, like kitchen ware went in the kitchen, were a given but the stuff that can be used anywhere is nice because you can move it around as you go and find a new home for it. You can also think out out side of the box and use things that you wouldn't expect in other rooms for new purposes. That's the fun of decorating on a budget from TS's and yard sales :)

Enjoy!

I've had the same experience at an estate sale recently. Nobody bothered to price things. And I hate to have to ask all the time! I like the milk glass. And love the color of that suitcase.

Rondell, you got some great milk glass pieces and at a very very good price. They are so much higher at the flea market.

I have had so much fun collecting milkglass. The most I have ever paid is $18.00 for a milkglass cakeplate. It's beautiful. I saw it at an antique store and they wanted $45.00 for it so I think I did good. I look forward to seeing how you pull everything together.

Hi I'm visiting from Debbie doos, I think you did great for an estate sale , they are a little higher priced. I am a linen lover, I think $1 for the runner and pillow cases was a steal.

Estate sales in my area would have asked much higher prices than you paid so I think you did great! The white pieces are terrific. I am visiting from Debbie's. ~olive
