My New Shabby Chic Lampshade

For Mother’s Day my son, Michael, bought me an eBay gift card (love eBay) and I didn’t want to just buy any old thing, it just had to be something I fell in love with. So I searched and searched and came across this Rachel Ashwell shabby chic lampshade and I fell completely in love♥ I received it yesterday. I had originally bought it for the depression glass lamp I had won in a giveaway but it’s to big for it, the black one will do for now until I paint it or find another one! Did I say I love it??? The ruffle on the bottom is so sweet!

I even think it goes well with my denim sofa…finally finding a style that goes with it or that I’m satisfied with. I’ll have to find a different flower arrangement I think but it needed some color and this arrangement was all I had on hand.

Today I sat and picked these white buttons out of a big plastic bag I have filled with old buttons, took me a while but I love the look of them in the old Ball jar.

Really cute don’t you think?

Now what would you do? This owl umbrella stand was my mom’s, I made it for her back in 1975 in ceramic class…should I spray paint it white? I have willow branches in it BTW. I go back and forth with it, mom liked to decorate too so I know she would understand.

I’ve been shopping around my home for some things and while in the basement I found a couple things of my mother’s…I’ll show you in my next post!
You know I love to blog so much, I’ve been blogging since 08 (I think) anyway, thank you to all that follow my blog I so appreciate it, I love getting on here in the morning with my cup of coffee and visiting, laughing and even crying with you…you always make my day! Oh and BTW I love reading your comments♥

I think the owl vase would look super cool white. But I could understand you not wanting to for sentimental value.

I sure enjoy watching your decor change! Have a great day!

Hi Rondell~
that lamp shade is sweet! I can see the lamp painted white with a crackle finish. Is that shabby??. I think it would tie everthing on the table top together. Pretty!
I agree with everyone else on the umbrella stand. White would look good.
Your home is looking beachy and beautiful!

I used to have that lampshade and loved it. It looks great with denim. I used to have a denim sofa years ago and I loved it because you can do so much with it.

As for the owl umbrella stand, I think it would look superb in white.

The lampshade is adorable. I love the subtle colors and its feminine side. The buttons are too cute. I can imagine it took a bit of time to pick out each white one. Great job!
