Not Perfect Around Here

Screen-Shot-2012-02-20-at-8_24_44-AM
A couple days before Thanksgiving we finished painting the kitchen cabinets, Whew…it was close let me tell you.LOL I loved them though and really didn’t mind that I would have two different counters for a while being that Lowe’s was back ordered on their custom counter tops for the holidays. So I put my big girl panties on and decided to wait and wait, which really I didn’t mind I was just so happy to see my kitchen lighter and brighter looking. Seriously it can be the dreariest day out and the kitchen stays cheerful! I’d like to paint the walls a different shade of paint but right now I can’t decide on what color I’d like so it stays.

Soon all my counters will look like this, the man from Lowe’s is coming to measure the counters this week and I’m so excited!

This wall in my livingroom isn’t perfect either, I just bought the clock at Big Lots the other day and it seems lost and I just don’t know what to do about it, maybe something on either side of it? Of course the biggggggg tv screen doesn’t help matters.

This room I doubt will ever get done, I’ve had three sets of bedding for it, I saw a picture on Pinterest that I loved only the bedding was white with black dots. I of course deleted it by mistake and even when I went into find it, it couldn’t  be found so I’m doing it from memorySmileand of the curtains need hung too!

I put some plates on the wall but need more and the chandelier in the corner needs moved!

So it’s not perfect around here and I doubt it ever will be but it’s fun dreaming isn’t it? I’m joining the Nester for her IDHTBPTBB party and Met Monday today…stop over and have some fun!

I know exactly where you are coming from, Rondell. We think we aren't going to be happy until a room is perfect, but if we take a look around, we see the things we love! I think your kitchen is looking great. I like the wire baskets about the stove and microwave. Flat screen TV's are hard, I put tall plants on each side of ours to distract from the ugliness! lol!

Have a great week!

XO,
Jane

Your cabinets look great! Very bright and airy! I was thinking a shelf the length of your TV might look good under the clock. Then you can add in some goodies on the shelf along both sides of the clock... I love how people are layering things on shelves...just a thought.
Have a great day :)

Wow you've been busy! It's fun to fluff and decorate isn't it, and to find the perfect spot for stuff!

Things aren't perfect around here either. We've lived here 11 years now & there is still so much to do. I don't think it'll ever be perfect.

That is part of the fun though putting it together. So what if our houses don't look like the cover of a magazine! I still think yours is really pretty! Whatwould we do if it was perfect anyways? LOL Traci

I think we all have different opinions about what is perfect. Your house looks lovely AND perfect to me. But I also understand where you are coming from, as I also think my house is not perfect:)

I love your white cabinets and the new counter top is so great!
I really like the poke-a-dot bedding it is so pretty.
Decorating is such an on-going process, but a lot of fun! I never get my home completely finished. I'm always seeing something new to add and rearrange.

Your home is really looking good!
Have fun, xo,Maki

I know what you're talking about! Seems there's always something off or needs some tweaking when we're working on things here in our house also. I happen to love that bed covering! Very nice against the wall color! Enjoy your day!

I think a house that's too perfect isn't welcoming. Embracing the imperfections is key. Thanks for sharing yours, liz

I love your cabinets. I want to paint mine so bad and dear JWS had heart palpitations every time I mention it. They are late 70's brown and yucky....I can't get him convinced. Maybe he will go to camp soon, now you have me really wanting to do it! I think everything looks lovely!

Your house looks so pretty, everything is lovely, perfection is not the case, plus, we're always thinking that way, when in reality, our homes are filled with the things we love and that's what makes them beautiful. Hugs,

Your cabinets looks great! It looks like you are getting Corian countertops. We had that in our last kitchen. Is it by chance called Maui? It looks almost identical to what we had. You are going to love it, but try to get the installer to make a cutting board for you, because the Corian will scratch.

Your kitchen looks great! You are one step ahead of me as I just finished painting the insides of my cabinets and am ready to start the outsides. I can't wait to lighten up like you did.
