Christmas Joy

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend, we did too! Did you do any Black Friday Shopping? I didn’t maybe because I work retail I just don’t want to be in crowds. Now it’s on to the Christmas decorating folks!

I thought I’d try a little crafty thing for Christmas and this is what I came up with, I already had the black frame from DT and the snowflake also from DT. Used some burlap that I had in my stash and came up with this, using some stencils to spell JOY!

Stenciled with black craft paint and used a dab of hot glue to attach the snowflake and I was done! Very easy to do!

I had to take these pics tonight so sorry for the glare, if I didn’t do this post tonight I know I wouldn’t get to before Thursday so…

What do you think?
Now to some pics of Nicholas, he was sleeping when they got here for Thanksgiving so I thought I’d take some pics while he was still. He looks just like my son!

His new shoes size 6 1/2, he will be 15 months on Nov. 30th
I love kissing him under the neck… so chubby and cute!

His dad loved Batman, looks like he does too!

“Jingle Bells”

Hello everyone, well the holidays will start this Thursday, I just hope Christmas doesn’t come as fast as Thanksgiving did.lol

I really haven’t started to decorate for Christmas yet, I always wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put the tree up. I promised myself that I wouldn’t put a lot out this year, hopefully I can stick to that promise!

Here is a small centerpiece that I did, the jingle bells are from Dollar Tree, they have the muted silver and the shiny so I went with the shiny to have a little bling!

Like the pillow there on my bench? It’s from TJ Maxx.

The piece that the vase is sitting on I found from GW this past Friday and the added bonus is that it’s really from Ikea and I paid just $2.99 for it!

Aren’t the pinecones neat, those are from our backyard and I need to get out there and pick up more:)

The red berry picks are also from the Dollar Tree as is the glass candleholder.

I made this for about $7.00…I had the vase and ribbon also the reindeer tealight holder!

I hope you like my little Jingle centerpiece…it was quick and easy to do.

There is Going to be a PARTY

 

Hello! I know I’ve been gone for over a week but I just haven’t done anything exciting to post about. I guess I just got tired, what with work and babysitting thur the week I was just “ burned out “and needed to be away from the laptop for awhile, you all know how it is. I think we have all been there at one time or another but give up on my blog, never! Of course they say “Never say never” I know though that I’d be lost without you guys:) We are all there to support each other, that’s why I’d like you to come to a Party, it’s hostess is Dawn at Creative Cain Cabin and the party is Christmas Decorating Party on a Budget we can all do that right?

What I Found at TJMaxx

I know, I bought wood, my husband laughed and I avoided telling him how much I paid for it, I tried to reason with him that it wasn’t just any wood it was birch, he still laughed! I thought it would look so neat in a wood box with lights for Christmas and it even had a burlap bow!!! I actually stood there for a good 10 minutes debating whether I should buy it or not:)


Also found this print of two dogs, I wish it had been labs but I’ll take what I can get. I was really shocked to find it there and actually had to dig for it under other frames. I love it though and for $7.99 I thought it was worth it!

This is where I have it for now between the door and window, I don’t know if it will stay there or not!

Will Start With Christmas 2009

Hello all! A wonderful thing this morning…the sun is shining, we haven’t seen the sun in over a week, my thoughts and prayers are with those in NYC and NJ, I surely hope the sun is shining there too!
I thought you would like to see how I decorated my home in Christmas past , some of you are new here to my blog and well, I thought maybe you would like to see how I’ve changed. I just can’t believe Christmas is next month, can you?
This is Christmas 2009
A lot of pictures but we all like pictures right?
The mantel is painted blue, and really I still have everything you see there. lol The thought of going thur Christmas decorations to sell what I don’t want is daunting!

I was into a more primitive look back then and an older camera too as you can tell. lol!

Old ironing board!

Look at the popcorn garland…I spent so much money on it, then right after, I changed my style of decorating, please, tell  me I’m not the only one to do this?

Prairie bonnets!

Dry sink I have in the basement now. I made the doll you see there, yes I can sew just don’t like to!

The bathroom, sometimes I do miss the days of decorating like this, I got everything just the way I wanted it, then one day I woke up and knew that a change was needed!

Bedroom…boy, these pictures do make me appreciate my camera now!

Hamm, why was I dissatisfied? I think that’s the only picture I have of the oak cabinets.lol

Okay now, let’s fast forward to 2010.
Mantel…found the wreath in the container at GW.

The hutch was oak, love, love it white!

Love♥ Can’t wait to see some twinkling lights!
Cabinets are white, thank goodness!  We now have an up to date ceiling fan, new light over the sink, new counters and now have wire baskets where the zebra ones are…what was I thinking with the zebra? lol.

I like looking at these pictures, it shows me what I have and not to buy another ornament, as if that’s going to happen!

I do need more of this ribbon though.

Aww, now I sort of like this but the washstand is now in the diningroom! I think I’ll move the bed back on this wall.
